He is a grumpy old man who has smoked since he was 'knee high to a grass hopper' .. But he loves to research things and is always buying random accessories for his newest hobby or what not. I think if I can get him to start vaping that he will really enjoy it and like the hunt for the next upgrade or new flavors. My only issue is to get him to start, something easy that he will carry with him.

I have found these two starter kits that I think he would actually use and carry:

https://secure.cighub.com/content/ego-w-starter-kit-black-f1-pen-style

GotVapes Innokin iTaste VV SQUARED 800mah Kit - BLACK [gv-iTastevvkit-BLACK] - $68.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Both of these kits have clips on them so that he can clip in only his shirt pocket where he keeps his cigarettes now.

Does any one have experiences with either of these kits, or point me in a better direction?

Thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone!

I would love if I could get my mom to start too, but she still doesn't know how to use a cell phone and hates change. I figured I would try to get my dad hooked first so it will be easier to convert her after the two of us have started.

I thought about starting my dad on the ego-c but I'm just not sure if he would carry it.

Maybe I could rig a clip onto it and he would totally carry it..

like others have said, the best thing to do is talk with him first, being a grump so to speak he may take offense at the gift and just toss it in the drawer. if he is the gadget type maybe show him around here and some of the equipment threads and all the cool gadgety stuff going on, help him form an opinion and then get him a belated gift, he may end up liking something completely different and surprising you.

In respect to the kits, the itaste has some good reviews from people here using them. if you look around you can come across smaller mods like that with replaceable batteries.

I've been talking him up for the past month about all of the cool stuff I have found and all the upgrades. He is really interested in the flavors and the fact that he can still smoke while using it, unlike the patch. We have a local shop that only deals in e-cigs so I think I will just take him by there so that he can touch and test different things, making it his idea to switch over instead of mine.

thats the best thing to do then if he seem interested show him some the cool toys we play with.

and get him a couple gift certificates for some of the juice vendors as a really nice gift, and of course getting him to come here and see what people say when he has questions about types of juice etc. is always good too.

good luck!

honestly, ive gottan alot of my coworkers to start e cigs. I tell them all to get a RN4081 and some cartomizers to start. its almost identical to a regular cig in size and helps get over that hump of having a cigarette. Mostly a mental thing but..seems to help. After a while if they enjoy vaping i show them the ego stuff.
