I just received my volcano inferno starter kit today. It came with a tube tank with the built in cartomizer. I primed the cartomizer, filled the tank, and it usually produces good vapor. However, sometimes I don't get as much if any vapor and my main question is: Is it supposed to make an occasional cracking sound? It does so whenever I push the button. Also, this question is specifically for this e cig, to activate/deactivate the device you have to push the button 5 times and it blinks a few times. When you activate it do you just push it once and then you're good to go? When I do that it mostly works, however sometimes it doesn't. Any suggestions?

crackling carto is telling you its working, when it stops crackling then it may be time to replace it because its probably clogged and muted by that point.

the inferno is a manual ego style battery therefore when its turned on you have to press and hold the button to generate vapor. to turn off press 5 times quickly and it will blink 3 times, to turn back on press 5 more times quickly and it it will blink another 3 times.

hope this helps and welcome!

snap crackle pop and sizzle are friendly wonderful sounds to hear when using cartomizers..... 5 clicks on, 5 clicks off is the rule with the inferno...which is basically an eGo with a new fancy name...

might also want to check that cartomizer to see what the resistance is, as you want low resistance cartomizers for that battery, when you're ready for more cartos (you'll need some eventually) try out the ikenvape 510 mega platinums, they're the best cartos around right now...

aaaand since this is a tank thread....baditude should be checking in shortly to wrap this up.

LOL in b4 the IBTanked recommendation.... i do need to get me some of them eventually but i've spent more than i can afford for now so resisting temptation as well as i can

hey they're good tanks, i have two of them, plus a couple of phiniac tanks, i have been favoring the IBTs more lately though....i was impressed thoroughly with them i must say....

.....plus i'm waiting on them to deliver a couple of glass tanks for my AGA-T genesis atomizer as well.

not doubting you at all, baditude has me sold for sure. for now my budget depicts that i stick with my 4 cheapy plastic tanks lol

completely understand, i actually have nothing against plastic tanks other than the fact that i LOVE citrus...i've noticed that i get much cleaner flavors vaping from glass though since i've made the switch to completely using glass tanks....it was clear as night and day on some juices though, like a 555 where the flavor is very distinct i could taste a faint plastic tinge in the vape....sort of like if you left a water bottle outside while you were cutting the grass and drink it when you're done as opposed to grabbing a fresh one out of the fridge...faint but noticeable....then again i've also been finding i can taste when kanthal or nichrome wire is breaking in on the genesis attys as well....i'm sure it seems strange but it's almost like my taste buds are waking up all over again a second time since quitting cigarettes....

and by the way i STILL hate the vivi nova.

Thanks to all who have replied! One other question I have is there seems to be liquid droplets at the middle-bottom of the drip tip. Is this fine? Or is there something wrong? I haven't been getting any liquid in my mouth or anything, so it doesn't really bother me. I'm just curious.

simple condensation forming in the drip tip....perfectly normal...take it out and blow out the drip tip out and replace it every once in awhile...keeps condensation and dirt out.

Here I am, fashionably late. :p I can't seem to pass up a cartotank or Provari thread.

No repetitious IBTanked recommendation here, other than to say I have five already, and ordered two more this past weekend. All of the tanks so far have been the clear tube and acrylic endcaps. Well, this time I ordered the Rio Carnival tank with Lazuli Shimmer Stainless Steel caps. Should look nice on the satin blue Provari. I'm going to try some cinnamon flavored juice for the first time.

There's a brand new carto tank out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tanks/354201-ss-carto-tank.html A stainless steel tank WITHOUT END CAPS with two large pyrex windows. Being distributed by Catskill Mountain Vapor Store. Check out the above link. I found a demo video of the vendor vaping one on a Provari.

everything sounds normal, i too had the inferno tube tank starter kit. the crackling is normal. and once u activate the button by pressing it 5 times, you only need to press the button once for as long as your taking a pull, but sometimes the button may get stuck. if you see it is happening often, it may need a charge. if it is charged and still not firing, then give volcano a call or you can check their website, they have a forum just for volcano products. hope this helps

steady crackling is fine. Its popping followed by spitting juice that is bad. usually means carto is flooded. if this happens, unscrew from battery. put paper towel over end with threads and blow into tip a few times. if it still pops and spits, the carto is probably bad and needs to be replaced.

Thanks for putting the tip about the paper towel. Just got one of these myself and it has been giving me issues. Was not sure if that trick still applied to tanks :)
