AVE's Gamel
First, let me begin by saying that
this is just my ramblings, it's not really a review AFAIAC. And anyway, with
virtually anyone's take on a liquid, take 'em with a grain of salt. I really don't care about anyone else's mileage anymore, but I want to speak freely about how I feel about a liquid.
As with everything I vape, this is (currently) being vaped on a ProVari with a Joyetech standard 2.2Ω atty at 4.8v. Vapor production is fantastic and TH is superb (though, as I normally choose, this liquid is 24 mg, so that plays a role with TH). One thing AVE does well and is actually consistent with is TH on all VG liquids. Don't know how they accomplish this, but they got it down pat!
AVE's Gamel is an all VG tobacco liquid that is described as "A blend of sun dried Turkish and Virginian tobaccos." Okay, that plus an atty and a PV will get you nowhere close to what to expect from this liquid!
This liquid. OMG. When I first tried it, my face just about balled up like a crumpled sheet of paper! My eyes squinted, brow furrowed, nose bunched, and my lips turned downward. What is that taste? What is that smell
*? Okay, so "sun-dried" tobaccos. That is in reference to the fermentation of tobacco. But this tastes, not just like fermented tobacco, but
just fermentation, period. There is something very briny, fermented, pickled and almost vinegar-like with this liquid. Mind you, this is all still part of my initial reaction (not that it doesn't still give me those associations, it's just not solely that).
I think what allowed me to continue vaping it to delve deeper was that, even though it's all VG, there isn't that omnipresent sweetness with most eliquids. I can't stand sweetness where it shouldn't be, especially with tobacco liquids that are
supposed to be straight-up with no guests. Of course there'll always be some sweetness there, but just it's barely there in Gamel.
Upon sitting with this liquid for a little while longer, I realized that as odd as it was to begin with, it also struck me as refreshingly new. Yes. The more I vaped it that initial day, the more I realized that this is (some form) of tobacco, and before I knew it, I was getting nervous about the bottle dwindling (that's always a sign of how much you like a liquid). There may be some strange flavoring in there, but this
is tobacco
*. No, not burning tobacco, but it hits in such a way, on the inhale and exhale, as to register as tobacco (nostril tickle, throat thump and the dry, biting aftertaste on the palate that can only be left by a tobacco liquid). Oh, and that funky aroma became remarkably fascinating (don't ask how).
I can't say I am able to distinguish any usual elqiuid qualities of a Turkish or Virginian tobacco, other than a general dryness, but however this liquid is concocted, it occupies a very unique place that no other tobacco eliquid, or eliquid in general, has come close to filling (and I didn't even know I had vacancies in my stash). Believe me though, this is not a recommendation, you have to be a particular type of vaper to handle this, but if you are that type, you'll love it. What type of vaper? Maybe the type that would enjoy an inebriated version of Vapor Station's Tampa on steroids (drunk and juicing, LOL). Or maybe the type of vaper that wants a unique tobacco elqiuid experience that is not based off of a children's cartoon, a smoothie bar, or a "coffee" house. I think my grandfather (miss you papa) would've loved this if he was a vaper. Ha! Papa vaping Gamel while frying up some cracklins. What a ride!
I honestly can't put my finger on why I love this liquid so much, but suffice it to say, this is one of the few bottles that if push came to shove I would grab in a pinch, even if I only could take what I could fit in my hands (and I don't have very big hands).
.............................................
* With the intensity of aroma I get from this liquid, it
may have to do with me placing the liquid (as I do with larger bottles) in glass. When you take the dropper out of glass, you have a much more intimate experience with the contents, from that open mouth of the bottle, than with a dripper top on a plastic bottle.
* This liquid does not come in zero mg because as Ben said, he can't get it to register at zero nic. Some of you may get where I am going with that.

Notice I didn't use quotes around tobacco.
