A special thanks to JohnnyDill for the recipe suggestion.....

I made a VERY slight change to his recipe about a week ago and came up with this.

8% Hangsen Turkish
1% EM
1 drop per 5ml of ACV

I made it for my boyfriend and he LOVED it. I'm not big into the tobaccos, but it was really good. For myself, I might drop the EM to .5, but the Turkish blend is really nice!

I'm so happy!

I've got my hangsen TB as well. I mixed up a 30mL 55/45 batch at 12mg with 1.75mL of Turkish blend. I miss the throat hit of 18mg. I taste the flavor, but it feels muted. Is it me? Or does the juice need to steep? (Sry to thread jack. And thanks for the recommendation!)

I tried 65/35 at 15mg with 9%. It tastes muted. 65/35 as In VG/PG? Or PG/VG? I did more VG/PG for the thicker vape. I think it's the VG muting the flavor personally. I'm going to try whipping up an 80/20 (PG/VG) mix at 9% and 15mg in a 30mL and see how it tastes. It makes sense being the dekang I liked was an 80/20. So in my theory, if this new bottle tastes the same as the 65/35, it's just not enough flavoring. If it's more pronounced, it's the VG being the flavor bandit.

I have learned from experience that Turkish needs a minimum steep of around two weeks - with 4 weeks being optimal. I'd be interested to know if any of you guys still enjoy the flavor at 8-9% when the flavor fully develops in 4 weeks. I am thinking it might prove a bit too high in a month's time, but I could be wrong. I mix at 5% or less and love the result.

I'll hide some away from what I mixed and let you know? I wondered about the %, too, but it was highly recommended at 9% by JohnnyDill. I'm so very new to DIY, so I'm happy it's vapeable, lol.

On a side note, I do plan to do some mixes again tomorrow and will make up a batch at a lower %. At 5% do you add anything at all, EM, ACV?

I enjoy it by itself. EM is good for rounding out the flavor but it also kills the throat hit for me. Adds a bit of sweetness as well. ACV initially intensifies the flavor but over time makes it more muted.. So unless you make a small batch just enough to vape over a week or two, I would stay away. And yes, please do let me know what you think of 8-9% concentration after a month - either by posting here if the thread is still active, or else by PM. Good luck with your new hobby.

Would it be a wise idea to steep the flavoring itself in the meantime uncapped?

I can't take credit for anything here. I stole the recipe from Danny. I just spread the good word! :2c::vapor::toast:
Now I know the real reason you went with 8-9 %. Danny loves his tobaccos strong. I will have to try it myself at that % just to see how it tastes. As for ACV, I am told it makes the flavors shine but only temporarily. You shouldn't be able to taste ACV in low doses.

Actually, he recommended that I start out low- around 5%, and try this first before raising the percentage. This is exactly what I did. It did not taste bold enough at 5% TO ME. But some say that 5% is plenty, or even too much.

Everyone has their own percentages it seems. And that is OKAY! It is a custom tailored thing that you can never achieve with store bought juice. :):):)
