I Use 1.8 ohm atty's. They used to last about 6-9 months on a Riva battery, which is about 4.1 V max.
Since getting a twist about 2 months ago, I've burned out 2 atty's. I'm running at about 4.4 V most of the time, never 4.8 V---it might not even go that high with 1.8 ohms attached.
So, yes, you may burn out atty's quicker.
I should add that I'm using a type B tank and both burnouts occurred when the tank was empty, or almost empty. So maybe if I'm more careful about this there will be no problem. I didn't have to worry about this with the Riva battery, it seems.
