I've been playing around with all my clearo tanks, been trying to get the best vape, and through trial and error, finding out what sucks and what works. Tonight I took an mt3( my first tank). I had no luck w this thing. Rebuilt the head once every other day for the last week. It would always leak, taste burnt, short out, etc. decided I'd give it another whirl. Did 6/5 wraps with twisted kanthal, and 3 mm silica. I'm gonna get some organic cotton tomorrow, because I don't want to blaze through all my kanthal since its doubled over. I've had problems with inconsistent coils, as they were either too tight or to lose and respectively burning or not producing a thick vape on my protank. I found using a straight pin through the wick works the best for me. I tried machine screws. The coils looked perfect but haven't mastered the technique yet. Anyway, just using the 3 mm wick works great. Removing the rubber cap always seemed like it would lead to leaking/gurgling, so far no problems. Very happy with the results, but my first twisted kanthal build is unbelievable. The vapor finally has that rich flavor due to more surface area to burn juice. I'm super stoked. Used the drill and paper clip method. Can't wait to upgrade my protank heads. Do not try this without an ohm reader. I fried one battery already.

Yeah, I fried my first battery a 3 voltage ego clone on a genesis build and im an engineer with more than one multimeter. Just from putting the cap on the wick and coil shifted, shorted and goodbye ego. my next purchase was a mechanical. But I will say if you are building your own a multimeter is an absolute must. I'd recommend one over the specialized units for ecigs if its the only meter you are going to have.
