Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
I just did that but it didn' even move a mm
Well, sounds like you're stuck. Assuming you are trying to replace the insulator because the atty is grounding out and is not usable as is, then you have nothing to lose. So go get a bigger hammer.

That black gunk isn't hurting anything. My kf5 deck is year old and has that gunk too.

Welcome to ECF, if you can't get it off, I'd just try cleaning it as best you can with a small brush and etc. You may find that if it's been on there a year, it could get pretty gunky and that may be causing your issue, some gunk may have "fused" it together. If you clean it the best you can while still attached, you might have a better chance of removing it completely, but at least it will be cleaner and hopefully something you can live with. Best of luck,

Anna

I have the twisted messes RDA probably the clone im not sure but im trying to replace the insulator and I've tried twisting pulling and pushing the center post to get to it and I can not get to the insulator how do i take it off to replace the insulator

I know you gave up for now but, usually problems like this relate to clones (not always). How much did you give for it? They run $60 new for original version and clones run about $25 to $30, easiest way to tell is on TM's site. Go there and look at the way the "castle" top is cut, clones don't have the same edges.

If it does get to bothering you, you can buy a new deck for about $20, which isn't bad at all. Worst case you'd have 2 working decks so could have 2 different builds ready to go.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Just as well, sometimes a punch and hammer can work, but often or not, you really would do better with special tooling (hand press with custom pin and proper deck nesting).
