Hello everyone - I have just installed a nice function which enables you to twitter any post you like by clicking on the "thread tools" drop down menu.

To enable this, go to your user CP > edit options and enter your twitter details in the form boxes near the end of the page.

That's it! Just click on the "tweet this" button to tweet the post at any time.

Remember to add me to your twitter, won't you? smokeyjoe_ecf ;)

It's like a text message - 140 characters - that gets instantly broadcast to anyone "following" your twitter.

Twitter: What are you doing?

Yeah, it's a bit silly - but very useful too. I kept members updated on my progress getting ECF back online when we were kicked off our old server!

How do you recruit "followers"? I must admit I find most messages on Facebook a little meaningless, 'I've just made a cup of tea and am settling down to watch Eastenders', well Dippy ****** Doo!
Social Networking - a sad excuse for not going out and meeting people where you might have to speak to them in person?
I remember gud owd days when wi 'ad nowt, no telly, no phones, no compewters, but wi wur reight appy!!:)

Twitter transformed for me when I realised I could run clients on my PC/Mac to follow tweets. Then it became more like an MSN/AIM chat client, but more public! I also now think of it like a mini forum for me, my friends, colleagues and acquaintances.

I don't care about the whole 'celeb' twitter thing, but I do like another way to be keep in touch with folks I know and care about - especially when travelling on business. It's wierd sitting in India reading the tweets of all my mates back in the UK!
