Another post brought to mind two questions and I didn't want to change topics in someone else's thread so....

Catching battery before it expires... What happens if I don't? I use mine from 3:30 am to about 9pm, a few hits in between using my Provari. At 9pm I put bat in charger. I have not noticed any drop off, but will I ? And what will happen if I don't catch it?

LP version... I assume my REO 2.1 is not that. I have RM2 attached. But if I were to buy a full size, how would I know which one? Or why I would want LP over standard?

thank you.

PS.... Not IF, but WHEN :)

I've read and been told if you vape em completely dead they won't hold good charge, or may not charge period. I vaped all of my batteries basically dead when I first started. They wouldn't even fire anymore they were so dead. I've never experienced anything other than a really long charge time.

You should be able to look at LP and regular models on the reo site. The LP stands for low profile. The catchcup is milled down on the LP which allows you to use other attys like cyclone etc. The regular one basically fits the regular rm2. You could probably look in your email order to see which one you originally bought if you are unsure. But, where you screw your atty on, you can see the different in height.

If you drain IMRs below 2.5 volts then they are over discharged and most likely are trashed. Most people notice a drop in performance around 3.5 volts, your vape will get weaker and not produce as much vapor. You can check your batteries voltage with a multi-meter or if your Provari fits 18490s you can check the voltage with that as well.

As for the LP Grand, the only difference is that the catch cup is flush with the 510 connection and that allows the use of atomizers larger than 14mm in diameter. So if you aren't using disposable atomizers or cartomizers then the LP is the better model because it will give you more options for your topper.

I use 2 Reos every day. 1 regular grand with the rm2 and an LP grand with cyclone and afc. The cyclone won't fit the regular grand with the afc on it as it's over 14mm. It will fit with the regular cyclone cap. When you get a full sized grand, I recommend the LP, not because it's really any different, it's just the catch cup is flush with the 510 connection and gives you the option of using other attys, that's all. For batteries, I just change them once a day. My batteries never really drop enough that I have noticed a drop off in performance, and when they go into the charger, the voltage is still at 3.7 or above. The lowest I've ever taken my IMR or VTC5s is 3.6 volts. I would say you would be safe replacing once a day. That is for the 18650s. I don't have anything that uses the 18490s, but if you are also using something else and not all day chain vaping, I would imagine your battery would last all day. If in doubt, put one in your provari and check it. Better safe than sorry :)

Ok, thanks much. Hadn't thought about using Provari to check the bat (not using it for much else since I got my REO) I'll experiment. Pretty much answered everything I needed to know. I get it about the LP version now too. Mostly I'm happy that bat doesn't blow up if I use it past bedtime. jk kind of... If the worst that can happen is it doesn't re-charge, I'm happy. Not that I want to go out and buy new bats every other day mind you.

I wouldn't really worry too much about over draining your batteries. I have ran my CGR's down to 2.5v on a couple occasions, (got caught out with no spare battery), and they charged right back. My CGR'S come off the charger every time @ 4.25v. I usually can feel a big drop off when they hit 3.5v and that's when I change them out.
