U.K.
I have been vaping for quite a while, however I have not used a wide variety of products.

I started with an ego-T. I enjoyed the flavours and the hit, however the leaking was a major problem. I went on to V2 cigs, but I find the cartomizers to be far too dry, and the flavour lacking.

I am purchasing an iTaste v3 later, and I am completely lost as to what kind of tank I should buy, the choices are overwhelming to say the least.

I would very much appreciate some advice on what I should actually buy.

I've tried several different brands and types of clearomizers and have had the best luck with Innokin's iClear16's and iClear30's as far as consistency vs price. I use those when I'm out of the house with good results. The replacement heads aren't too expensive.

Another good option is a carto-tank. A slight bit more involved when it comes to setup and refilling, check out Baditude's blog posts for everything you wanna know about those.

If you want a cheap something for trying juices a 5 pack of boge cartomizers can be had for five bucks or less. They are great cartos. Also for the under 20 dollar range the best tanks would be the Aspire BDC or Aspire BDC Mini. They can be found at my local vape stores website here:Aspire BDC Tanks

Also there you will see the Aspire Nautilus which I've heard great things about, but I run many flavors so a regular Aspire BDC is much more economical.

It depends on what type of e-liquid you put in. I use EVODs most of the time but for my cinnamon, lemon and other "known to damage polycarbonate tanks" liquids, I use a Protank or Mini Protank. I like that all my coils are interchangeable and I can dry burn them to keep the coils cleaned. When the silica gets too funky, I pull it out and replace with cotton. The coils that fail will one day be replaced with coils I make myself. Since July 21st of 2013, I have only had 8 coils fail. 2 were bad out of the box and the other 6 were used & cleaned to death (the wire becomes very fragile & breaks when trying to pull out the wick.)

iClear 16 (the original, long wicked ones) were super simple to fill but getting all the liquid back out of the wicks to change flavors is impossible. All the wicks also cause them to waste too much liquid for my miserly ways but I will admit that the only time I got dry hits was when I let the liquid get too low and didn't swirl them around enough to absorb more.

I killed the iClear 16 I originally started vaping with by keeping a cinnamon flavor in it, rinsing in vodka and then boiling it. The cinnamon weakened the plastic, the vodka (probably combined with the cinnamon) caused the plastic to etch/frost and boiling it caused the cinnamon oil to super-heat which melted the drip tip and cracked the tank.

I started putting an even stronger cinnamon in an EVOD and it frosted right away so I found the Protank and have since added 2 Mini Protanks. I still use that EVOD but it's starting to show it's age after 7 months of daily use. It's scuffed & frosted/filmy but it still works!

I say avoid protank unless you want to learn how to rebuild and keep rebuilding until you find the perfect build, I thought i did recently but it decided to go back to gurgle. rewicked it and its ok for now but in a day or two I know it will be back. its a head ache when you have to rebuild the head every couple days.

my cartos would last a few weeks before I had to buy a new one.
