I have a dse901 and wonder if their is a "typical life expectancy" for these components. The first charger I got with the kit died after ONE day. I don't even know if the 2 batteries that came with the kit are O.K., because I can't get them to charge up. So, how long could/should I expect the 901 charger, batteries, and atomizers to last? Thanks much.

Karen--It is all pretty much hit or miss. An atomizer can last an hour, week, day, or month. Batteries can go 3 months for me if I do not get e-liquid inside them which causes the switches to freeze up. The charges I have never had an issue with. Your best plan is to have a stockpile of all parts and hope for the best but expect and be prepared for failures--also get a usb passthough to save your batteries------Sun

the charger is suposse to have a long life, but a damage battery can kill it in seconds

I have never had a charger break on me. They should last a long time unless you got a lemon.

Batteries depends on how many times you charge them just like any other battery. I have not had a battery die on me yet but i have noticed a decrease on performance a little bit. But i not only have one e-cig since i started vaping and most of the time i use a usb passthrough so i dont use batteries as much as other people do.

Atomizers if you havent gotten a lemon should last you a couple of months with proper cleaning. Soaking the atomizer in diet coke once a week or even twice a week depending on how much you use it should extend the life of atomizers considerably. Look for methods of cleaning atomizers in the forum.

So far i have had one 901 atomizer die on me because of user fault. I did not dry the atomizer completely before using. Basically i short circuited the atomizer. But before the atomizer short circuited, it lasted me one month of heavy usage.

With my current device that i use heavily everyday (510), it has so far lasted me about one month. It would have had died 4 times already if i had not cleaned it properly (thats how many times the atomizer would produce negligible vapor and get really hot)
