My apologies Shawn, but I feel the need to speak out even HERE (Go ahead and delete this if you wish to)

FYI: In light of recent FDA events, I thought I'd post this just to maintain awareness. FDA claims they found DIETHYLENE GLYCOL in seized vaping juice. That stuff actually CRYSTALLIZES and I've never even heard of anything other than PROPYLENE GLYCOL (PG) and/or VEGETABLE GLYCOL (VG) being used as the vapor catalyst in vaping juices. So what are they trying to pull here?

This FDA TOXICOLOGY STATEMENT verifies that PROPYLENE GLYCOL (PG) was tested and deemed as safe for human consumption back in 1997.

Please read paragraph 1.7 of this document and see if my eyes have deceived me. I think this is worth saving a copy of:

I don't think the general safety of PG is being questioned, is it? As far as I know, we already knew it was okay, unless you have an allergy. I believe the general idea (whether it is correct or not)is that the DG (found in a single sample of a smoking everywhere cart at a 1% concentration), was used as an additive that is cheaper than PG, or that it was a byproduct of manufacturing (personally, I find that one hard to swallow).

smoking everywhere depending on the model of which they test 1.0, 2.0 etc was made by different companies i know at one time kanger was making se products which makes ya wonder how safe the kr808d carts are too. but all my liquid comes straight from dukang and none of my units are made byt he same factory as se products

The document cited here is 12 years old. There is more current information available on PG in the forum here E-cigarette News - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat and on Spikey's forum here Propylene Glycol Research Study Results

Regarding the Diethylene glycol, there was like 1% found in one and only one SE cartridge.

Rather than begin a new conversation here, IMHO, I think referring everyone to the current conversation in the main forum would be a good idea.
Just my .02 cents worth.

Had two conversations on FDA crap today already. First thing this morning, "I just heard you're smoking anti-freeze and you're gonna die!" "If you're exhaling that stuff, what's it doing to me!" at work. The little effing ignorant, uninformed, pain the *ss, #$@&^!

Sorry for the rant.

UPDATE: So after my rant and being totally ...... off - I flooded and killed 2 atty's today, the button on my batt got stuck "on" and I realized.... I have the owner's permission to vape at my desk... I AM the HR dept. and we DON'T have a smoking policy... Yet! He He!
I calmly printed out info from the forum and presented it to the little pisser for his reading pleasure (while puffing on my pitifully failing VX2 with a bad atty) Smiled at the creep and went back to my desk.
My failing atty's lasted almost to the end of the day and I was totally thankful that Shawn ships quickly because I had 10 brand new shiny black ones waiting at home!
Thanks again Shawn!

Regardless of the chronology of the report, it was done on the same PG formula that is used today in the vast majority of vaping juices. The FDA MUST REALIZE that most vaping juices do not contain that nasty Diethylene Glycol. Are they just slamming the whole entire industry over one or two samples? If so, there is most certainly a great degree of politics at play here....likely relevant to the loss of tobacco tax dollars as well as loss of sales to the monstrous tobacco mfr's who help to put various politicians in office...who are therefore expecting some reciprocal support from them. There are many facets involved here; make no mistake about it...and it's all about the almightly dollar. Always has been, always will be.

Just to play devil's advocate, this really only further proves that quality control is an issue that really needs to be adressed in the ecig world. Lack of quality control, even over just one cart, is greatly hurting our hopes of not being banned. And if dg was found in one SE cart, how many other carts contained it and were consumed? Didn't the FDA say they only tested 18 carts? 1/18(5.5%) is still too high a percentage.
