Nope, not ceramic fiber. These coils appear to be baked (sintered) like the vaporesso cCell and are extremely durable. The flavor and vapor from them is outstanding, and they last a lot longer than a cotton coil does. There is zero spitback from them. No popping, no crackling, just a nice, clean tasty hit! I love them. :)
Have you ever had to change it? Is there metal inside? Has to be, right? Seems like they would last near forever with proper care and dry burn every now and then. Man! I want to try one!! You don't have answer those..lol.. I got Google! Nice name btw. I'm one of those but not as cool as you with you super cool Simba!

Ha! I've had the name for 14 years, since I got clean and sober and my last name at the time was Cool, lol. :)

The Simba ceramic coil has SS wire in it. There is also a hybrid coil that has both ceramic (around the outside) and a dual kanthal coil. There are pictures of it (both of them, and the RDA, actually!) on the bottom of page 1 and the top of page 2 of this thread. I haven't had this coil long enough to have to change it out yet. I just got this tank last Friday, so it's going to be a while, methinks. :) I haven't read anything yet about whether this coil can be dry burned, but the cCell coils are not supposed to be dry burned. With those I soak them in a dish of water with a denture cleaning tablet and then drop them into a mug of microwave-boiling water and let them sit until the water is cool, then rinse them under tap water. They stay dark but I get the flavor back for another 10 tanks or so. I've been using the cCell ceramic coils since late last year and I haven't thrown one of them away yet. They still have life in them! I can't say the flavor is as good as it was when they were new or newer, but they are there if i ever need them. :)

I actually think the Simba coils will be even easier to clean because there is no cotton in them at all. It might even be possible to clean them in hydrogen peroxide or something stronger because I don't have to worry about that cotton buffer. I definitely plan to perform some different cleaning techniques on it when the time comes!

WOW @cooladdict Thanks for all the info and pictures. Awesome job. Definitely have me REALLY wanting this one now.

You are very welcome, Bama! I am pretty impressed with this tank so far. Once this tank of Apple Pie is gone (it takes a while because it holds so much juice!) I want to change my flavor profile and see how it does with that. Since there is no cotton, I think changing flavors will be easy peasy!

Thanks, mister! And HI! :)
Yeah!! Hi @Ding!!

Wow! An inspiration !! I'm not even to 2! 22 months here, but it's a record, at least... Lolol... :headbang:

I'm also new to vaping. Got my first kit ummm... 44 days ago and it's my 43rd without a ciggy, if I last the day. But I will. I puffed one while teaching a guy to stuff the tubes with tobacco. BLAH!! That was about 5 1/2 weeks ago when I gave him all my tobacco stuff. "Stinkies" just doesn't do the nasties justice. YUK!!! :vapor:

well not sure yet..but have tc capability but not much experience in it.too hard in the noggin
I was kinda going device specific...
on a DNA200 board, I have had better results with 304 using steam engine tcr files....(I just downloaded a new 316l file to try, but my dna is dead, so have to wait)..
but on mods with an adjustable but still "flat" tcr, like the rx200 for example, I get better results with ss430.

most SS premade coils use 316, but I haven't had the greatest luck with stability on the premade coils....ss 316 has worked fine in coils I make myself, but not so much in premades...real hit or miss on those.

22 months is HUGE!!! Congratulations! :headbang::rickroll::banana: And a big congratulations on your 44 days smoke-free. You are making incredible, wonderful changes to your quality of life and your health. I love this!! :) My husband still smokes and it makes me so sad. His cough is horrible and I cringe every time he has a coughing attack. He's been in recovery 18 years. Well, 19 years in 2 days. I am pretty confident he will make it to Saturday. :D I just wish he could break that last life-killing habit. I want him around for a good long while, and you're right. It's just a stinky, nasty habit. At least he doesn't complain about me vaping in the house while he still has to go outside to smoke, lol. I know my clouds smell gooood. :D

im glad you can use prebuilt coils. i dont have patience or time to be building coils lol
I hear you! I am a #lazyvaper, lol. :D I love the taste and vapor I get from ceramics, so I just don't see the need to build my own coils. I do have DIY supplies on hand in case of vapeocalypse, but as long as I have amazing options I am sticking with the prebuilt ceramics.

Well folks, it looks like I am going to get to try some cleaning methods out on the SS ceramic coil today. I am noticing a decrease in vapor and a bit of muted flavor (after 6 tanks) so I am going to finish this tank off and remove the coil to see what's up. I also had to increase my temp to 400 watts to get satisfactory vapor production. If I have to deep clean the coil (in the US cleaner) I will install the hybrid coil and report back on how that one performs. It's a dual kanthal head with a ceramic ring, so I expect it's going to be a cloud machine. We shall see! :)
