Hi guys, just ordered my first e-cig, and I haven't even started vaping yet. I ordered the SS Choice No 7 Micro because I thought it looked like the best and all of the reviews on their site were REALLY good. Then, after some research I read that a lot of people prefer manual 510s. I am kinda freaked out because I spent about $100 on a starter kit and juice. Then I realized that I over-spent. My card hasn't been charged yet and I think I can still cancel my order with No 7. If not, I can mail it back when it gets here, but I can't send back an opened e-cig to them.
Because of all the bad reviews of No 7s that I have seen on here, I wanted to ask if I should just cancel the order. Sounds like it will just break within the first month and I don't really have the money to eff around like that.
So if someone could help me out, I really just want the best vaping experience possible. Should I get a 510? I just want something that isn't huge, but won't break. I don't need crazy battery life because I am able to charge. I'm looking for something that looks the most like a cigarette, with a red led. I just don't want to look like I'm smoking crack out of a sex toy (Whoever said that on the forum before me...you're awesome, by the way)

Please..haaalp,
Kate.

If you spent too much and you're having second major thoughts, cancel the order.
Then start reading (Library & Library Annex) then ask questions and then buy.
I'd purchase from one of the vendors here though.

Ok, before someone can answer, what exactly is a No7?

i'd cancel and just get a 510. after awhile, you probably won't be concerned with how it looks and will want longer battery life. having to change/charge batteries all the time gets old really quick.

here's a link to the No. 7 if anyone is interested. i'd definitely pass on it.

http://www.ecigaretteschoice.com/products/SS-Choice-No.-7-Micro-Starter-Kit.html

regarding the reviews on their site, of course they're going to be good. all of them are 4 and 5 star which makes sense since it is their site and they want people to buy the product.

Lots of people make the mistake of an overpriced eCig 1st purchase, I can vouch for that.

If you have found this site, people need to read more before jumping on the train. I should have and would have ended up with 3 less eCig models.

You should be able to call and cancel the order, and it should not be shipped because they should get even a message BEFORE the eCig is shipped. If not and you called to cancel, do a CC chargeback if they want to play that game and when it arrives, ship it back before opening, this can't be disputed.

(I would suggest a battery mod, rather than going through multiple eCigs just to find out you hate swapping batteries every hour or few. One battery set @ 6Volts last me all day into next.)

I Personally would go ahead and cancel since you have not been charged yet and get something like the joye510 It's better IMO, and also much cheaper. Later on when/if you get to the point where you no longer care if it looks like a real cig and decide to upgrade to a mod all your extra 510 atties and carts and whatnot pieces will still fit most of them :D I would also suggest, when you are ready to upgrade, you just go straight to one of the high end pieces. The up front cost is rough, but it will be cheaper in the long run than making a ton of little upgrades :p

I started with volcano cigs that I spent probably $150 on and only used for about a week and a half before buying a 510 (and a 901 auto, which got like.... 5 days use), when I got my joye510 I stopped using the volcano set completely and ended up giving the whole kit away about a week later.

After about 3 weeks with the 510 kit, curiosity got the better of me and I ordered an ego since everyone had some rave reviews of them. My 510 has been basically un-used since it arrived, and will probably be passed on soon as well.

Now, I have placed an order for the "little sister" mod. I think all the kits ive had are good kits (I don't even harbor any ill feelings towards the volcano despite it being overpriced), but I DO wish I would have just jumped right in from the beginning instead of inching in in increments :p

Hey Jynn,

Your reply was really helpful,

Here are some other questions...
Where is the best place to order a 510 from? or an ego? or mods? I am in Bloomington, IN so anywhere in the US should be fine. I've heard cignot is good for 510s.. Also, Juices. Where do I start? There are so many good reviews of everything. I smoke pall-mall lights currently. Less than 5 cigarettes a day now for the past six months or so!

Seriously, Your help does not go unappreciated!

Thanks again,
Kate

If you're just smoking 5 or less a day, the 510 will probably be all you need. Cignot is a good place to start. Might want to pick up a couple of extra atomizers as well. They will sometimes a week and will sometimes last months... it's a crap shoot.

As far as juices go... that's a tougher question. Taste is soooo individual.

I would start with litecigusa.net for buying an e- cig. They have a good variety of choices and offer free shipping on orders over $15. They come from Pennsylvania and if you get priority shipping for $1 it should take about 3 days. The post office in Penn. sucks though so if you get regular shipping it will sit at the PO for 3- 4 days before being sent to its destination. For juice I would start by looking at vaporbomb.com and go from there. There are many good American suppliers listed on this forum. Make sure you order your juice from an American supplier and let the lighter flavors sit a week or so before trying. Don't order the chinese juice because it might turn you off e- cigs all together. Also, check out the juice review section to get a good idea of peoples experience with different e- juice.

I purchased both my joye510 and my ego from cignot. They may not necessarily have the CHEAPEST around, but their customer service is top notch, their shipping is bizarrely fast, and I feel safe that I am getting genuine products from them.

The juice is really all dependent on your personal preferences. You might just want to take a look at the e-liquid reviews section and pick something that sounds appealing to you :D

For your first orders, you probably want to find a supplier that offers sample sized variety packs so you can get a feel for what you like, and if you pick up something you DON'T like you arenht stuck with a huge bottle of it (I have nothing but praise for dawn at DIYflavorshack.com, and she offers samplers, plus always throws in some extra goodies when you order) Be sure to check out this Electronic Cigarette Coupon Code Master List - Electronic Cigarette Forum coupon list before you order from anywhere to see if there's a coupon code you could use :D

Another great option would be to head over to the PIF group once you get a couple flavors Pay It Forward - E-Cigarette Forum and you can swap samples and get to try tons of new things.

I also encourage you to return the No. 7 or cancel the purchase if you can. It is not held in high opinion around the forum. Probably not the worst buy, but not the best either. I've dealt with both Cignot and Litecigusa and received fine service from both. A 510 kit costs only around $35.00 for a basic kit from Cignot or $40ish for a basic kit from Litecigusa. At Cignot, $65.00 will add the PCC and a few extras (the PCC allows charging even when away from a computer or electrical socket).

Be sure to get extra atomizers, they do burn out and are a disposable item. Sometimes an atomizer lasts a week or two, sometimes months and months. And you might want some extra empty cartridges for different flavors.

Great vendors for many flavors of eliquid include, TastyVapor, VaporBomb, and Freedomsmokeusa. Check them out in the vendor's section.

Welcome and good luck to you!

You're definitely fortunate you caught yourself before it was totally too late. I think one of your biggest problems may be in finding the 510 with a red LED, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere. I just can't remember where just now. Sorry if someone already mentioned that. I really only skimmed these posts. When I first started, I thought I wanted a cigarette-looking e-cig too, but now I just smoke crack from a sex toy. You probably eventually will too. ;) Luckily, I don't leave the house too much, though, but I do have an eGo for public use.

Oh, that's right, you wanted a red led. Hm, in that case you might try looking at the 901s or the KR808D-1. I think those come with red leds. Look at Litecigusa or at Cigeasy or at Vapornine or VaporKings or Vapor4Life.

Do check out the ECF Library too, especially the series of articles by DonDaBoomVape.

You guys are the best, I cancelled the order. Hopefully I did it in time. I know that the order has not shipped and I have not been charged. Thank you all for all of your help! I just want to be healthier, and vaping sounds effing awesome. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress!

P.S...

I saw a dude vaping with a blue led a few weeks ago, had no idea what it was...and came to the conclusion that he was a wizard.

Another point in praise of Cignot (along with fast order processing, excellent products, friendly service, and good prices) is that they're Chicago area based, so your orders should find their way to you in Indiana pretty speedily. The 510 and Ego are the same atomizer, but just different batteries, with the Ego providing much longer battery life but creating more of a small cigar-sized look, but no LED on the end (it's on the switch instead and less noticeable).
