It's all over the news here in the UK and just the sort of badly reported news that gives me a feeling of doom! The legislators will no doubt lap it up with delight! Cue the ban...
Apparently a man died when an e-cig he was charging "exploded" and caused a fire in his house. My sympathies go to his family and loved ones.
Read a bit deeper though and it turns out he was on oxygen and taking oxygen at the time of the fire. No doubt because of lung problems caused by smoking tobacco. The e-cig may have ignited the fire but only because the room was oxygen rich! Maybe the oxygen caused the e-cig to explode? Unfortunately the true facts are rarely reprorted.
No doubt the poor guy had tried e-cigs in an effort to give up smoking which was killing him.
i fear though that this story will give ammunition to those who, for reasons I just cannot understand, fail to understand that e-cigs are in fact a GOOD thing.
