A UK government agency has come out in support of e-cigs, stating; "If alternative and safe nicotine products can be developed which are attractive enough to substitute people away from traditional cigarettes, they could have the potential to save 10,000s of lives a year (UK)."

Try smokeless nicotine cigarettes, says government | Society | The Guardian

This is tremendous win from a political standpoint, that should have a ripple effect across the Atlantic for both the US & especially Canadian legislators. The UK is a country with similar health care criteria's and regulations as Canada.

enjoy..

We may all be taking trips now to Canada to get OUR juice, once we start getting taxed on it! Once USA taxes our stuff, Canada Govt may take full advantage of making it an open sale item. Like pharmaceuticals! Its gonna be fun when the tables turn in the Classifieds, and we all have to ask, "will you ship to the US?"... Glad I'm someone known to help now!

vPlayer Dave Dorn's latest episode 15/9. Touches on the subject and the nuances. A positive step indeed and probably the most important one of them all in the last 1.5 yrs.

Interesting points made by these gents in episode 15/9. Incentives to get the public to move away from harmful tobacco to e-cigs by 1) not taxing to be sure e-cigs are cheaper than cigaretts and 2) publicly allow vaping in any and all no-smoking areas. Also the episode mentioned a possibility of a government developed e-cig in tandem with private business e-cig suppliers to lend legitimacy to new vapers ( referencing Brithsh-American Tobacco e-cig model development (BAT) Safe Cigarette Introduced By the British American Tobacco | WhereTheresSmoke.Net ). Add in a national media campaigns to raise public awareness something like drinking and driving ads.

If the Canadian government woke up one day and just couldn't stand the swampy morass they have made and see options and actionable items that are staring them in the face they could work to bring health and longer life to the 20% of Canadians that are smokers.

The longer voters live the more taxes they pay, or is that some far fetched ideal?
