The original name of this thread referred to Ultra vape USA, who have now changed their name to Ultra Mist. They are not connected with Ultra vape (UK).

In the posts following, please read 'Ultra Vape' as 'Ultra Mist', and keep in mind this is a US issue and nothing to do with UK ecig firms. Thank you.

I got in on the recent deal on gotsmok and got a pair of these. Pretty sure they are fake the printing is kind of ghetto and the top caps are way different then the ones I got from rtd. Just want to warn others.

Yeah I know its a pretty big allegation but here are some pics. They are from my cell phone but I think you can see what I am talking about.

The one I got from RTD is on top and the printing is much better the ultra looks a little ghetto.

Also this top cap does not have the white collar.
With that in mind they appear fake to me and I had read on another board they have been known in the past to pass off fake items as real. I don't really have a way to test them and I usually do dual coil builds at 0.32 ohms, don't know if I want to take the risk and push them

Thanks for the pictures. That does look suspicious. The printing looks like it's from a much cheaper printer and the missing collar IMO is significant. I would definitely email Ultra Vape with pics attached and ask them what's up. Let GotSmok know too. In the meantime I would be careful going to low in ohms.

Let us know what you find out :thumb:

Can you please explain this episode of Vape Team live at 2:00.00 they explain that MNKE quit making batteries back in September?
How could yours be made in October 12th if they quit making them and the factory closed/got retooled to make Hybrid Batteries back in September?
I mean no disrespect and I am not calling you a liar but this video says something completely different than what you are saying.

See VPLive Vape Team Episode #93: The cloned MNKE batts starts at 2:00.00

VPLive Vape Team Episode #93: Year in Review w/ Phil Busardo - YouTube

This is the EXACT post from the Vape Teams video and they say these batteries are clones At 2:00.46 in the video:

MNKE 18650 3.7v 1500mAh High Discharge Battery $9.85 | gotsmok.com

There is a comment this post where someone named "renson" from ultravaping says they are not fake but the Vape Team says they are for sure fake!!!

If they are wrong and you are right you need to get in touch with them and get them to post an update video saying their wrong and you are right or the 1000's (it already has 3250 views) of people that see this video are going to think they are fake and you are dishonest. Word travels fast in the vape community.

Can you maybe post a receipt for the batts from the October shipment from MNKE and just blur out the confidential info so we can rest assured that these are real MNKE batteries?

Then lets just go with: They ARE fake Then

just because of the uncertainty, i have decided to discontinue use of my questionable MNKEs.
what i would really like to know is: if these are indeed not authentic MNKEs, what in the world are they? they handle over 10A. any batt that handles over 10A would not be a cheapo batt IMO. even the grey pannys that everyone uses cant go over 10A so why in the world would they counterfit a batt, yet use a batter batt than would be expected. what i mean to say is, if youre going to counterfeit a batt, wouldnt you use a cheapo one, like on that does less than 10A?

UltraVape contacted ECF and told us that:

"The MNKE batteries we sell at Ultra Vape are genuine. We have a signed and sealed Declaration from the makers of MNKE (Jiangsu Eastdye Battery Co., LTD) stating that we have the newest batch of MNKE batteries. These batteries were made on October 12th and it is different from the previous batch (the tops and ends are different with the last productions)."

Members probably need to contact MNKE for a statement from the battery manufacturer, as it seems to be the only way a judgement can be made.
