I bought an Ultrafire BRC 18650 3000mah battery (the red one) several months back, and I belatedly learned that one should not choose batteries with 'fire' in their name. It stopped working just after a month or less. I've been using Efest batteries since. I just wish I've bought Efest batts from the start.
I now have a digital multimeter (the old analog we have had conked out) and checked the crappy Ultrafire's voltage. Came in at 3.9v, which I thought wasn't bad for a stored battery experiencing some drain. I then charged it with my xtar WP2 just to see if it can still take in some charge. It did; it clocked in at 4.21v after a full charge that took just maybe 20 minutes. I then put it in my mech mod. Still wouldn't fire.
I'm just curious whether this batt can still work, or what's wrong with it. I know it still holds the correct charge but it just won't work. I use RBAs by the way, in the 1.2-1.8 ohm range. Thank you!
