I use 91% isopropyl alcohol in a cheap ultrasonic cleaner to clean atomizers. Works like a charm! I use the same setup to clean Boge cartomizers and Stardust clearomizers also.

If you go this route, though, be certain to let the atties/cartos/clearos dry thoroughly! Overnight is fine for atties and clearos; several days is best for cartos. Inhaling eliquid laced with isopropyl alcohol is not something you want to do. Isopropyl alcohol totally evaporates and leaves no harmful residue. Also, don't use denatured alcohol: that stuff does leave residue.

They do a great job cleaning the juice out the wicks and inner compartments, but don't do a whole lot for the charred buildup on the atomizer coils.

Dry burning it to ash (bad for longevity of the atomizer & death to hh.357s) or chipping it off with a very sharp needle are the only methods that have worked for me. I've been using the chipping method with decent success on my HH.357s. I use the ultrasonic to get all the loose bits off. I use PGA so I don't have to wait for it to dry.
