Has anybody used both a regular Joye 510 and then either a Magma or Gemini, and can do a proper comparison?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Volcano Magma and the Revolver Gemini are just branded 510s?

If that's the case, other than paying a few extra bucks for the brand on the starter kits compared to an unbranded, what's the difference?

How do the Gemini and Magma compared to an unbranded 510, and to each other?

Are their branded atomizers/batteries better, worse, or the same with just a logo tacked on? Volcano claims to have some of "the best atomizers in the business".

I ask because I've been stressing for a week on the forums, doing research, trying to find the PERFECT FIRST E-CIGARETTE for me and have decided on the 510. However, I like the brands, and the PCCs are a completely different sleeker model than the regular 510 PCCs I've seen.

BTW: I am planning on starting out dripping from the start.

I just don't want to get suckered into a brand like most people do with the Blus and find out the tradeoff for aesthetics was decreased vapor/crappy throat hit/atomizers that burn out in a week/batteries that won't even make it a month, etc...

I'm also taking suggestions for other branded 510 started kits, provided they are equal to or better quality than these.

It's a secret!
Honestly, if I could go back and start over, I would have just gotten the disposeable set from Madvapes. It is rechargeable, comes with on atty and two carts which you can re-use once you've vaped them dry. I think this is the link to the blue LED, but he also has red LED. The box says it's rechargeable at least 3 times, but I've seen people on here that have been recharging and using them for MONTHS.

I have been very happy with mine and at $10 bucks, you can't really go wrong.

This may not be too bad an idea except for two things:

One, I want to try a medium-low or zero nicotine flavoured liquid

Two, I'd be scared that because these are so cheap, they may have poor vapor production/throat hit/hard to draw etc, and give me a wrong first impression?

Volcano's Magma, is a 510(batts are the same, attys are the same), but it is not a true Joye product. I believe their attys are made by DSE, as they look just like them(washer inside). They measure out at 2.5 ohms(a hair higher than true Joye@ 2.2ohm), but work fantastic. I've had mine going for months. If you are going to purchase through volcano, I wouldnt buy the kit, but buy it in pieces, it will be cheaper and you can do what you like for juice. And alos, standard 510 carts do not fit their atty well. So if you are going to use carts, you may want to buy blanks from them.

Thanks :D

So the Magma is good compared to a Joye 510? Especially in terms of vapor, throat hit, and longevity?

Any idea what model their PCC is, because its so much sexier than a generic 510 PCC

if you have any questions regarding the gemini please don't hesitate to ask. :)

Ok :D You ready?

Can the Gemini PCC be used with non-branded or other companies 510 batteries, or did you reverse the threading or polarity to make them proprietary?

What model is the PCC, because it is infinitely better shaped than the Joye 510 base PCC. Can you buy the model unbranded, or is it a custom shared just by you and Volcano?

Honestly, how do you think your vapor production compares to unbranded 510s or Volcanos? Battery life? Longevity of the equipment, specifically the battery and atomizer?

And man, who designed the Gemini branding? The '2' thing? Please. I'll make you a set of new ideas in Photoshop and send them in. I'd have chosen Revolver over Volcano a billion times over if the Gemini was branded more like the Elite (it appealed to my Gunslinger fanboy side), but the Gemini branding is garish and tacky in comparison, particularly the PCC. No offense, but seriously guys, that needs to be revamped.

I'm serious on the Photoshop thing btw. I really think the Gemini would slaughter the Magma with a little rebranding.

I have a Joye 510 and a Magma and a Volcano, the Magma is very good The PCC works great and holds more carts than the Joye PCC. As for the Magma I think that the atty is great I use it on my Joye and my Joyes on my magma I like the Magmas atty the best so far I do perfer the Joye cartridges better one peice design the Magmas seem to leak alot but the cartridges are not interchangeable the Magma carts are fatter so Joyes wont fit although out of desperation I have just held them on the Magma while vaping (they wont stay in the atty)Also, the Joye manual batteries WILL NOT fit in the Magma PCC I even cut mine and am still having a problem because the button snags on the inside wallwhen trying to screw it in. Overall I would buy either again but I like the price for a Joye $39-49. I do still buy Volcanoes juice though cant get enough of the Pineapple Punch.

Ok here is a complete 100% honest answer.... (lol how many times have we heard that from a company).

Ok first off, the actual gemini ecig and parts all work with any 510. The only noncompatable part is the PCC. The reason is the manufacturer decided to play the proprietary card by making the button slot smaller. The Joye 510 buttons stick out way too far to fit in there. However to test we ripped a button from a JOYE batt and found that the PCC does charge the batt. However I don't recommend ripping those out.

I refuse to downplay a competitor, so I will only state the facts. You will have to ask around for opinions. But the upside to the Magma PCC is the LCD display which is quite helpful for charge status. However the bad side is that their PCC won't even allow you to charge their own manual batteries unless you modify(destructively) the case. The battery charge hold does not have a button slot. This is not any fault of Volcano, but the manufacturer is reluctant to make design changes. We made the Gemini PCC before the Magma PCC became available. So the way it stands between the two is you get either manual battery charge or LCD display.

Well, Revolver has a problem with that. As of right now we are redesigning(yes even the graphical look) the Gemini. The new pcc is just like the Elite pcc and has an LCD, charges ALL manual batts EVEN JOYE, and is slightly smaller than the Magma and current Gemini PCC. This is the first of its kind, and in our opinion, going to be the first REAL 510 Pcc. Also the price point is going to be less than the Magma and the current Gemini due to our good relations with a new manufacturer.

My recommendation is if this sounds like what you want in a pcc, if you want a pcc, then i suggest wait. The timeframe looks like a release in mid August, possibly sooner. I suggest buying just the 510 itself with the batt charger....many of us don't use the 510 pcc and are fine with it. The 510 is great either way the time will just fly by. Also I'm not going to just tell you to buy our 510 in parts because it doesn't matter, it's is what you want. There are plenty of 510 options on this forum. We are just one of them. Even though our parts and volcano parts are slightly different than they are essentially the same as joye parts. In fact my first ecig ever was a Joye 510 from Liberty Flights and it did me just fine.

We do give away a free starter kit every month on our forum. I don't know if that is something that would interest you.

One thing to know is that ecigs are a matter of taste and preference and one persons choice might not even be something you would like. It is best to do the research on multiple sites(think of one forum as fox news and another as cnn, its politics) and come up with what YOU think is best for you. Whether you buy from Revolver, Volcano, Lib Flights, Madvape, or whoever..... it is still better than buying another analog cigarette.

I use both a Joye 510 and Volcano Magma. I do prefer the Magma atty with most of my juices but not all. The Magma atty is slightly larger in diameter so I mostly use 901 whistle tip carts with it. I think the Magma atty runs a little cooler than the Joye attys that I have so I get a little bit better flavor from them.

I have but don't use a Magma PCC, so I won't really comment on that other than for myself, carrying a couple extra batteries or switching to my NicoStick is simpler than dealing with the PCC. I also haven't tried anything from Revolver as I thought it was a 401, but seeing now that they also have a 510 I'll probably be checking them out too at some time. I personally think its always wise to have a second source for anything that you buy on a regular basis.

If it's affordable for you to do it, you might want to purchase parts from all three companies that you are interested in. One of the joys about them all being 510 parts is you may find that you like the batteries from one company best, the atty from another, and carts from a third.

Oh my. That is very good to hear. In that case I can't wait, I will definitely purchase a Revolver product at some point in the near future, particularly if what you say about the PCC is even half as amazing as you make it sound.

Have you guys already decided on the new design? Because if you are taking input, I already have a few mock-ups in my head that would fit with the rustic-western air I feel the 'Revolver' name hints towards. Or you can always tell me to go eff off, the company has it covered lol :D

About the liquid, I have the Volcano v pack and must say that their liquids are quite good. They also have zero nic available. But for me, I started with zero nic and found that didn't work right off the bat. So I went back to 12mg of nic, then stepped myself down to zero and that seems to be working. I'm still chain-vaping though, just without nicotine.

So far, Tasty Vapor has won me over for flavor and quality of e-juice. It's mixed in the USA and has fantastic flavor. The atomic cinnacide is my regular vape. None of the tobacco flavors I've tried have ever quite satisfied.

But my disposable 510 kit is working quite well. The draw is a little tougher than a cigarette, but it's the best vapor of all my ecigs. I have an 801, as well as hard cap 510 cartos and use them with an Ego. The atty with the disposable works really well on my ego. I also got a passthrough from madvapes with a 2 amp car and wall adapter. So then I have 5 volt vaping in the car and at home.

Don't get me wrong though, Volcano is a great company too, and like madvapes, they provide excellent customer service. You won't go wrong with either, it's just about how much you want to spend.

Thanks for the info on the Gemini line revolver :) glad to see a site that has a redone variant of the 510 with a price point that, with the price of the pcc included, is absolutely great.

I'm guessing the 2 symbols on the product were intended to play on the Gemini astrological sign, as we Gemini are of two minds about everything. ;)

Pretty cool man, only thing I'd like to see is a battery style selection for the kits. I almost never recommend autobatts because for most of the people I talk to they wouldn't work well.

I love their and Volcano's PCC.

Seriously, if they do a good facelift on the Gemini by the end of August, I know what my second e-cig purchase is going to be :D

my email is msmith@revolvercig.com. if you have any ideas for anything we are ALWAYS interested, because isn't it the customer who we want to like our products?

The Gemini2 with new PCC is going to have a price point closer to the Elites, making it the most affordable 510 w/pcc kit that i have seen online.

We did play off the astrological gemini with the 2, because of two different attys and two batteries that come with the kit, making it have 2 different sides. But the Gemini2 is going to cut down on the cheese(yea i said it) so no more "2" on the attys. I think you will all be happy. Different battery options will also be available shortly after.
