Unexpected Benefits Shortly After Swapping Smokes for Vaping

We all know our breathing will improve after we quit analogue smokes, but I am amazed by the number of unexpected benefits so shortly after dumping smokes and switching to vaping.

1) My skin has color and moisture again. It's smooth now and no longer bumpy and flaky.
2) People around me keep asking if I'm wearing contacts and saying my eyes look brighter.
3) In the morning, my teeth still feel slippery, just as they do right after I brush them before bed.
4) My finger nails lost that yellowing really fast (I thought I would have to wait for that to grow out, but no) and my nail beds are much more pink.
5) My lips are no longer dry all the time.
6) My outdoor allergies seem to have diminished, if not disappeared.

And the benefits we all expect:

7) My breathing improved so quickly (within days, and continues to improve).
8) My sense of smell is so intense now. I actually get startled by scents that are unexpected.
9) My taste buds are just starting to really wake up, so I look forward to tracking the progress there. Certain tastes are more vibrant already, like my vitamin C chews and other citrus or sour flavors.

I'm sure there are more and I'm forgetting them right now. Switching to vaping and dumping my 3 pack per day habit of 30+ years...Best Thing I've Ever Done! 12 days smelling sweet (probably the mount baker Moo Juice) and I'm NEVER GOING BACK!

Anyone else having some amazing unexpected benefits?

Wow, me too. 2 packs a day for 35 years. The sense of smell is amazing. And mildly spicy food is setting me on fire. I used to have no problem with Mexican etc. I think I'm getting "quit zits" tho. I've read about them lol. I am too old for those and haven't had them since, well heck, since forever ! I waited and waited to cough up some funk but I never did. How could that be possible after 35 years of smoking?

I guess we're just lucky beebz, I never went through that hacking up gunk either and I smoked for 38 years. Funny thing about you mentioning spicy foods lighting you up now, I'm the opposite, used to I couldn't taste any spicy food, it was just hot to me. I've discovered that I can now actually taste all the flavors of the dish, not just the heat.

Wear those zits with pride, baby! I got them, but they went away really fast. I washed twice per day with a mild face cleanser, then used organic apple cider vinegar (50/50 mixed with water) on a cotton ball as astringent, followed by (I kid you not) straight organic coconut oil as face lotion. The zits were gone in days and my face is like it was when I was 21. Congrats to you, beebz!

I kept waiting for that coughin' up junk thing to happen and it never did. I smoked for over 30 years, too. But I don't cough in my sleep anymore :)

My sense are definitely waking up. FOOD! OMG FOOD!

Hi there Brooklyn, welcome in! I have definitely noticed a difference in the way my nails look too. Love how my teeth stay whiter all day now.

Hi Kim! Thank you!!! Funny you mentioned NOT coughing up gunk. I haven't either......yet. I had a serious, 3 pad habit for over 30 years. I kept waiting for it to happen, but I guess it doesn't happen to everyone (having read your post). That's promising news. I even went out and bought Guaifenesin to have handy so I could get it all out fast, but I haven't had the need so far.

Hello and congrats on making the switch.

I did notice all of the things you have mentioned plus my hair seemed to improve and I actually lost weight with all the yummy flavors we have to choose from. All taste and no calories.

Oh, and I smoked for over 40 yrs about 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day.

It took a while for the body to realize that this attempt to quit was really working. When it did then the gunk started coming up. But it didn't last long. I think it was around the 3 month mark or so.

I have only had one cold in the 3 1/2 yrs I have been vaping(used to get em and worse all the time while smoking) and it only lasted maybe two days. What a relief. Now, I can't stand the smell of smoke and wonder how those around us stood the smell for so long. LOL

Good luck and happy vaping.

:)

Yeah, definitely glad I didn't have to deal with that. I did go through some serious "vaper's tongue" for about the first six weeks or so. Couldn't taste any of my juices, there were a few times that I just wanted to give up on vaping. Struggled through it with gum, mouthwash, and brushing my teeth several times a day. I also had a lot of sore throat problems, but after switching to higher vg lower pg juices it stopped bothering me.

You're lucky... when I first quit, I had nothing but problems. Zits, dry skin, cracked lips, mouth ulcers, coughing like my lungs were trying to escape my body...
But yea. That's all behind me now. My skin is now the clearest and healthiest it's been since before I hit puberty and my lungs sound like a healthy non-smokers.

My sense if smell was the only one that really surprised me. I feel like a dog my sense if smell is so strong.

I'm not sure if quitting has made me oh so pretty or anything like that. Perhaps I am all aglow, with sexy nails, pearly white teeth, and luscious hair; who knows.

I do keep getting random erections in inappropriate places however. No joke guys, but the last one lasted for about 3/4 of an hour with no fantasizing or physical input from me. Frankly, I'll be glad when I have a little more control over that.

I don't need my inhalers 2-3 times a day anymore. Haven't use them in ......I can't remember when. I think I used it once a week into no analogs. Haven't used it since. My son told me yesterday my coat smells nice! I think it is all the vaping flavours coming off it :) My husband told me the other day that my smokers haze look is coming off my face and I look younger these days. I probably look younger because my face has now turn into zit city. I am 40 and am breaking out like I am a teenager again. I hope these don't last long. Also everything else you mentioned has happened to and I have to say the breathing improvement is the best!
