Cutting out nightime caffeine is wise. 
Will add that sleeplessness/insomnia/irritability are also symptoms of quitting tobacco. As my OH dropped his nic levels I had to get him a WTA to rotate in as he was just a grouchy monster who couldn't sleep. The added in occasional 6mg WTA did the trick for him.
He only consumes caffeine in the mornings and only water all day/evening. First try lower nic and decaf in the evening...if it still persists maybe a WTA or wait out the side effects.
