Does the unflavoured liquid (I have some of the Ecopure ordered from Intellicig) taste alright by itself? I ask because I'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow, and I haven't found any shops in my area that sell the LorAnn oils, and if I order some of those online it'll be a while before they arrive, and I want to get back to vaping ASAP.

How about if I bung some vanilla essence from the supermarket in there? I was thinking to make up 10ml bottles with 5ml of the 36mg liquid, 4ml VG mix and 1ml vanilla essence. I realise this won't give it a particularly strong flavour, but should be alright, yeah?

It has almost no flavour at all (as it's supposd to, of course! :D ) but, yes, a little bit of sweetness is there.

I personally wouldn't use vanilla extract: for the reasons why, see the last post rom Sun here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ally-been-found-happyvapor-19.html#post656501
OK. Would some other supermarket flavouring be alright? Not necessarily vanilla, that was just the first thing I thought of. It doesn't much matter, I suppose, but I would like it to taste of something...

How about almond?

In the US, I believe you can get LorAnn's in some of your major shops (Walgreen's or Walmart? Sorry - don't take too much notice for obvious reasons) in the baking isle. LorAnn's are more concentrated than most, so don't dilute you liquids too much.

However, so long as you steer clear of major colourings, all oils and sugars (check the ingedients list) you can use any brand of food flavouring. :)confused: Almond may very well contain oil  ...... just read the ingredients carefully )

EDIT: By pure coincidence: I just saw this thread on 'Today's Posts' - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/42634-loranns-walmart.html

As Angela said just check it is just alcohol and not oil based
trouble is the super market stuff is not strong enough but it's cheap
Yeah, I'll get the LorAnn as soon as I can. Right now I just want something to give the thing a little bit of flavour. Doesn't have to be much.

I found a caramel essence that seems to be PG/VG based. So I could put rather a lot of that in, right? Like maybe 50% Krystal liquid and 50% caramel essence?

The recipes I've seen usually have 20% flavor (and that's the default setting on the E-Juice Calculator).

If you need to cut the nicotine more, you can get VG at health food stores and cake-decorating supply stores (and how many products can say that?), and PG at some pharmacies. And of course you can buy both online.

I'm pretty sure the 20% figure assumes you're using high quality flavourings such as LorAnn. I was thinking of using 50% for two reasons: 1) it's crappy supermarket stuff, and 2) it's PG/VG based anyway.

My order, which I'm hoping will arrive tomorrow, is for 3 bottles of Ecopure Krystal and 3 bottles of Ecomix. So I'm all sorted for VG.

I'd be careful with vanilla (or any other extract.) I looked at some and one of the ingredients was phosphoric acid as a preservative. Might be ok, but then again...

Most Wal-Marts now carry loranns in the craft section near the wedding supplies.

Check the label on that vanilla! Make sure it does not contain sugar. The sugar fouled out my attys. A while back, I picked up some lemon extract with no oil or sugar. It was OK, but I got tired of it fast.
I've decided on a caramel essence, which, according to the website, contains "water, flavour, propylene glycol, glycerine."

Should be grand, yeah?
