I wanted a way to get away from analogs and i started researching on this site and many others and found this site more helpful than most as far as my curiousity and seeing questions I had already answered here. I haven't quit yet but I'm alot closer thanI was.Now as you said this is turning into something of a hobby unlike the real thing

Yeah you can easily turn this into a hobby. Much more fun than smoking if you're a creative personality type.

I think that is one of the reasons it makes it easier to transition, because it is such a unique experience, unlike analogs there is an added dimension to vaping. There isn't time to think about analogs because you think, "What new DIY can I come up with today?" "If I buy this chocolate I can mix it with my strawberry..." The sense of loss you feel with quitting analogs is eradicated with vaping.

agree! vaping is much more tastier then cigs were..plus its cool to try all the delicious flavors...I mean you know we've all tried the flavors in analogs like vanilla or caramel..but they don't match the rich full flavors of ejuice.

I agree that it's kind of like a hobby. I think this is largely because many of us didn't actually enjoy smoking per se. Not that smoking can't be pleasant, but it also has the negative feeling of an addiction (which it is) because you know it's unhealthy and it's SO hard to quit even knowing that. Plus I know a lot of us got to the point where we didn't actually like smoking all that much. I didn't even really like the smell of it, nor do I like cigarette smoke in my face, even as a smoker.
With vaping there are no known negatives, and even without a ton of research I think we can reasonably assume that it's WAY safer than actually smoking (propylene glycol is known to be a safe food additive and we're not exactly absorbing large amounts of it into our bodies daily by vaping.)
So it's nice to be able to enjoy something that we know isn't killing us, and with so many different flavors to try, mods, etc., and different devices!

Sorry, but I am not enjoying it at all, being a little cash poor. I mean, all the juice flavors out there that I can't try RIGHT NOW. All the nice mods I would like to try RIGHT NOW. Wife looks at credit card bill, no more RIGHT NOW.
At least I've got enough equipment and good juice to hold me thru the next couple of months and I already know there will be better things coming, just hate waiting...

I could not agree more with everything you've said here. After smoking for nearly 27 years (at one point up to 3/ppd), I had honestly come to *hating* it! I hated the habit, I hated the smell, I hated not being able to taste good food, I hated not being able to smell things, I hated paying so much for 20 death-sticks, I hated smelly ashtrays, I hated that my friends hated my smoking (LOL!).

The very same day my husband (also a long-time heavy smoker) got our starter pack was the last day we picked up an analog. Crazy thing is, I have not even craved an analog even once. That may be, in part, attributed to the point made here that this has become more of a hobby than a habit. I've only been a vaper for a few weeks, but I'm already toying around with different cart mods and taste-testing different flavor juices (might even dabble in creating my own at some point). My husband (techie-type that he is) is already talking about building me a passthrough and building himself a bottom-feeder (juicebox? - still learning all the terms here, lol). So yes, I'd definitely say the nicotine addiction has gone from killing and depressing me, to saving my life and making it fun thanks to e-cigs.

In the few weeks I have been vaping, I've bought tons of stuff and juice... now I'm waiting on my PGP order to arrive so I can "try" to save some money by mixing my own.

But.. I really like... This time that I have "quit" regular cigs... I don't think I will revert and start sneaking around hiding the fact that I just don't have the will power to make it stick. I've been very happy just vaping and feel so much better that I don't have to hide it. I just have to keep explaining it.

:)

Yeah, now I'm starting to want a set of every Ecig. I actually went backwards and bought something I didn't need just because I didn't have one. I quit within 3 days of getting my first starter kit, not yet 2 months ago. Have the v2, the Infenno, the Magma, ordered the 510 Titan. Then got 3 kits for friends for Xmas (well, 2 friends and an x husband). Have plans to get more but like others, have to go hey... gotta eat too. Actually, I think I have 2 kits coming for me next week but forgot what I ordered LOL. Waiting patiently for that Tesla and willing to not eat that week.

LOL SpeakerPlayNet!! I know exactly what you mean. Since my husband and I first started our journey with e-cigs around Thanksgiving we've kind of blown that "but look how much we'll save NOT buying cigarettes!" right out the window. BUT I know once we settle down and the novelty wears off a little, we actually WILL be saving tons of money that used to literally go up in smoke. I'm really happy with my 510 so far, so haven't needed to order other kits (yet); although my husband gave his 510 to me and moved up to something with a little more kick and a much longer battery life.

So whether we save a ton of money in the long-run or spend just as much with our new hobby doesn't really matter. In the end all that matters is our health and the money we will save in heathcare costs.
