How experienced are you? Have you used an unregulated
mod before? Have you used a regulated mod before?
If you are new to mechanical mods (unregulated), I suggest that you avoid what is sometimes called a "hybrid" mod. This term is actually a misnomer, as a "true hybrid" mech mod has a dedicated
juice attachment which may or may not be removed.
But the
faux (fake) hybrid or
hybrid-look) mods, probably more correctly called "
direct battery" mods can be very dangerous if incompatible juice attachments are used. These mods have no 510 center pin. A juice attachment with an
extended center pin makes direct contact with the top of the battery. This is the only juice attachment you can use with this type of mod. Using a "normal" juice attachment (store bought clearomizer tank) on such a mod is incompatible and can cause your battery to short out and potentially cause your mod to explode.
Whatever mod you get, make sure that it has adequate gas ventilation holes, preferably in the top 1/3 of the mod. When a battery vents gas, it vents from the top; this is where the gas is going to accumulate. If the battery blocks the pathway to any bottom vent hole, you essentually have a pipe bomb in your hands.
Remember, an unregulated or mech mod has no protection circuitry, so inexperienced vapers run a higher risk of safety issues.
If you are or will be a new mech (unregulated) mod user, I highly recommend you read the following:
