Unvented Mods

Ive just been looking at a dual 18650 wooden box mod from Kamry, no venting though..... after talking to them they say venting is required due to the onboard temp protection. I`m still loath to purchase it due to the lack of venting, does anyone think its aceptable to have non vented battery chambers?

You could drill some holes in the battery cover to give you piece of mind.

true, might end up doing that. I know kamry did end up doing an updated version of a previous mod where they did add vents. Might be time to charge the drill though....

IMO if it has a battery it should have venting.

After seeing a video of a non-vented flashlight with an 18650 battery inside smash through a plate glass window , I will NEVER buy a mod without venting....period.

Better safe than sorry.

agree completely, it is an unlikely event but the extra time given by those vents just might make the difference. I ended up telling them i wouldnt buy it due to the lack of vents

Is the wooden mod airtight? I doubt it.
An airtight seal would cause problems, otherwise pressure would vent through the cracks and openings around the battery door, and other places.
One very tiny hole drilled in the battery door would solve any concerns, it's wood, not a sealed metal tube.
Sealing in the pressure during battery failure is what causes the problems.
