He did not break most all his ribs. He broke ribs 9-12. He has some damage to one lung but it is not collapsed. His spinal cord is not severed but seriously bent at the waist area.No change on the worse part,he is paralized-for life they say. He could possibly leave the hospital in a week or two. He will go to a rehab facility for several months before going home.

I'm so sorry to hear that this happened Fran. Just make sure that you take care of yourself so that you can be there for him when he needs you....because he will....

A tragic reminder to the old saying "tomorrow is promised to no one".I will continue to pray for him that the Lord give him the strength and courage to meet each challenge as he recovers.Prayer for you and the family also that God provide each of your needs during this time. Please continue to update here;you are not alone.GKK

Fran. Keep the faith and be strong for your daughter and son in law. He needs all the support he can get now. Please take heart in the fact that you all still have him. He's a logger so I assume he's pretty strong physically so he may surprise you all in time. I'm wishing the best for him and your whole family.

I think when most people think of a logger they have a picture in their mind of a big burly guy. Wayne is average height and thin as is my son that also logs. Wayne is also strong willed and we're hoping that will see him thru this.

My younger daughter joined her sister at the Hosp. this morning. She relayed the message back to me that Wayne's had more cat scans this morning no doubt checking on the surgery they did yesterday. Just found out my oldest son is in the hospital awaiting surgery (non-life threatening).

    Hi Fran,
I don't really know what to say except just hang on to hope. It's all we have when faced with these horrible things that happen in life.
I have been following this since you first posted and feel the pain. Just hold on to very high hopes that the doctors will be wrong in the end and your sil will beat the odds and recover.
Even if that isn't the case, he has plenty of love to help him through all the rough times to follow as your postings show how much you care.
Best of luck to you and yours and remember to take care of yourself along the way.
