Hey everyone new here. Been using a ego twist for around 6 months and looking to upgrade now. I've been bouncing around between a higher end VV or mech mod. I don't have tons of money to spend but the idea of mech mod looks kinda fun. I don't have any experience though with wicks or dripping. I did see the k100 and read some reviews about it being a beginner mod. Any advice is welcome

I agree with the others....a Provari if you have the means...a Vamo if youre looking to spend less and still get a great deal at that price point...there are a lot of posts on this forum concerining these and other mods...they can certainly help in making an informed decision before plunking down your money...

In the end - you are likely to end up with a MECH.
I have had VAMO's - they hate me - but - they are great -especially for the money.
I have a Smok ZMAX - nice

I have a Smok telescope mech - love it - it's a mech
I have Precise+18650 mech on the way, as well as Electric Angel, Precise ELA, and Sigelli #20 - why? BECAUSE they are MECHS.

It's all up to the person - we all generally start the same way - a simple e-cig. Then - a lot of us move on to VW/VV - and from there - to mechanical.
The Provari is certainly well made - but for the price? It's just VV! IF a person wants a non-mech device - WATTAGE is the way to go. Screw on the device and VAPE. Wattage is the SAME between atomizers - voltage is NOT. In all truth - voltage is much simpler - just send out, say, 4.2 volts - that's what a Provari does. The VAMO - which costs a TON less - looks at the resistance of the device - and CALCULATES. Give 4.2 volts to a low resistance and see what happens.

Most of the VV/VW devices also will not work below a certain resistance - most require above a 1.2 ohm resistance. Pretty much limits high power usage.

My BEST advice would be to determine how dedicated you are to vaping. If this is going to be a once in a while and no big deal thing - go with the VAMO. If it's going to become a big deal - something that you actually enjoy - go with a mech because you will end up there anyway.

Started with 510 cig-a-likes.. moved FAST to Ego.. then the Ego 18650 mod.. a usb corded ego VV, then the Vamo.. and a KTS mec, waiting on The Rebuildable Vented Telescope while also waiting on a 10000mAh power supply and ego USB VV connection...

Believe it or not.. I just passed $300 on device spending... Ya, I coulda got a provari... ;)

FastTech's Vamo kit for $50 is kinda hard to pass up.

Fasttech...doesn't sell Vamos as far as I know. Did you mean vaporbreak? Their vamo kit is $33.49...the body by itself is only $26.99. I wouldn't buy a Vamo kit in any case...for the most part, they come with really bad batteries or chargers (sometimes dangerous batteries). You are much better picking up the body from vaporbreak for 27 bucks or from exhalevapors for 35, then getting 2 Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries from fasttech for under 10 bucks and a Nitecore I2 for 14 bucks from the same place. For about 51 dollars you have a MUCH better kit than any of the pre-assembled ones are going to get you.

Hello! Just started Vaping myself (1 month cig free now!). I started with an ego Twist, then jumped up to an evic for the ease of VW and all the other bells and whistles. Since then, I have bought 3 different mechanical mods and am heavily into rebuildables now. My VV/VW devices have not been touched in weeks (evic more so because a buddy of mine has it).

I have both the K100 and the KTS-Storm that another user posted about. IMHO - the k100 hits harder than the storm and is a great beginner mech. Also . . . the KTS-Storm's button can get quite hot during use, but can be resolved by sanding down the button and battery post contact (hits like a champ afterwards). Hope that helps

Vamo is made a bit cheaper than others and usually breaks at some point but could last quite awhile ya never know. For a similar price range of a vamo the smoktech SID is a very solid apv, the shop I goto did an abuse test that would have garbaged the vamo yet the SID held up. It doesn't have an option to use smaller batteries like the vamo though but if that doesn't bother you its great for the price.

Personally I upped my budget and went with an innokin SVD its really solid and can use different sizes of batteries.
