So far so good on the whole process. Kicked my Marlboros after 32 years. 5 weeks vaping, and not a single smoke. For me, it was getting both batteries that worked, and high enough nicotine in the e liquid. Still looking for an all day vape I like, but that comes down to taste. Thanks to everyone here for the help.

I have all the Ego stuff in my set up. I am going to buy a 1000 mah VV Ego C twist. I already have the charger, attys, carts, tanks, mega attys, and some spare 510 for my wife. we have 2 - 650 egos, 1- 650 ego c pass through charger, and also 3 - 510s.

If I upgrade to the 1000 Mah variable twist, I can use dual coil clearo's or tanks? Asking for your experience here. As cheap as I can, if I just buy the C twist batt, and can just buy one piece to replace my 510 Low Resistance attys and cartridges. Have to fill too often, pain in the but. I do like the draw and throat hit I get with the LR510 and cartidges, and not a huge fan of the tank system from Joyetech, too much air. I asked this question when I first joined this forum, and got a general idea of what I should be looking for, but there was some things I couldn't use because of my battery set up, like dual coil and etc. So if you already gave me suggestions, thank you, I still have them all, but figured I could ask again about a new set up with more juice and variable voltage. Here is what has been suggested before the 1000 mah variable twist batt:

switch to rebuildable tanks and forget the rest
For you, vivi nova mini
For her, pheonix ce3 cartomizers
plain ol cartomizers are as close as you will get to what your using now
CE4 clearo had the hardest draw
then a mini nova
then a tank with a Smoktech single coil carto in it
and then the tank with a Boge single coil carto was the lightest/most airy'

Best carto, clearo, or whatever that I can get and use that will give me great vapor, and great throat hit
without the "too much air draw" thing that I have going on with my Joyetech Tank system????? As always, thank you it is greatly appreciated.

Without going to expensive, the twist will give you a taste of the vv world, watch out tho, it can be a slippery slope and you might find yourself on the provape page eyeing a provari without even noticing.

I like the mini nova's don't get me wrong, but I just grabbed a 5 pack of T2's (2.4 ml) for $18 and can have one for each juice, don't like to mix them. I really like these unit's and for the price you can't go wrong.

I have a itaste MVP on the way and will let you know how it goes.

I hate to say it but you might need to experiment with different pv's till you find the one you really enjoy.

My opinion doesn't mean more than anyone else because it's really just about personal preference. I happen to like cartos better than tanks or clearos. It could be the way I vape or user error but I always seem to get dry hits or burnt vapes with them. I like the 1.7 or 2.0 cartos or a carto tank. I might be in the minority.

Wait till Black Friday, you might be able to score a little assortment pretty cheap. The advantage of the clearos is if you're still experimenting with liquids, they can be cleaned out.

I don't really mind putting out some money, nothing "too" expensive, still absorbing the cost of two set ups with a bunch of e juice too. I just don't want to have to get any other batt than the Ego twist 1000 since I have everything else. I would rather pay a couple extra bucks now, than buy junk and move on to a new deal,...again. the experimenting with liquids still makes alot of sense, and yes, I am waiting until after the holiday to order anything else. kinda why i posted this now, i can look at the opinions here, the options, research and get the right set up for the ego twist. thanks, your opinions and experience helps alot. cheers.

I started with a 650 Mah Ego and CE4 Clearos and loved it, tried all sorts of flavours and nicotine strength, pg / vg ratios and have decided on

50/50 VG/PG, 22mg Juices in sugary, nutty, buttery, creamy flavours (Peanut Butter Cookie, Cream, Vanilla, Hazelnut)
I would note, my opinions appear to disagree with a lot of others, my theory being the majority use tobacco type flavours (which I just don't think taste like cig's at all, unfortunately), where's my tastes are rather 'feminine', I did smoke Marlboro Gold too so maybe I'm trapped in a closet or something ;)

Anyway, my experience based on my 'creamy sugary nutty' flavoured e-liquids.

  1. Ego with CE4 - excellent taste, good vape and throat hit, they all leak after a few weeks - sometimes cracking round the base, otherwise leaking fluid into your mouth (yuck !)
  2. Ego with Mini Nova and 1.4 Ohm (low res) coil, subdued taste (boo!), good vape and throat hit, no leaks - quality engineering
  3. Ego with Viva Nova and 1.4 Ohm (low res) coil, same as above (just a bigger tank)
  4. Ego with Bodge low resistance Carto - no taste (boo!), good vape and throat hit - but each hit tastes slightly like somethings burning.
  5. Ego with 410 Atti, Dripped - excellent taste, huge vape and throat hit, leaks, very warm cape, take a long draw and you're lips get uncomfortably hot, after a few draws (or a long draw) tastes like somethings burning (probably doing it wrong, I only use it to taste a fluid)

Moving away from the Ego, purchases, my cheapo (ish) mod arrived in the post :-

Kicked Bolt, kit 18450 batterys chargers etc

The Bolt has a 510 connector, so I can't immediately compare with the CE4's without an adapter, however I concentrated on comparing the Vivi Clearos on ego v 18490 battery (1100Mah v 650Mah of the Ego).

Firstly, without the Kick - so no voltage / wattage control - just the bigger (higher current draw ?) battery in a case with a switch.

Taste improved, more throat hit and vapour that on the Ego Battery - presumably the Battery has a sustained current rating

Now with the kick set at 7 Watts

More Taste, as much as I can handle, More Vaour and throat hit.

I Think the Kick has meant I can -tune- the taste I lost from moving to the Vivas (from the CE4's) by modifying the wattage. At 10 Watts it's really too much, at 7.5 Watts it does a good taste impression of the Ego / CE4 combo but with addition vapour and throat hit.

If you have a VV ego battery, and you get the same 'tasteless' issue with the (otherwise fantastic) Nova's, simply changing the voltage may fix it (never used VV). If not it'll come in handy when you (eventually, we all succumb) buy a mod.

A cheapo mod like mine (sans Kick) come in at about £50 I think, probably with battery and charger included.

If you want a little more mah and a better dial than the ego twist look at a 1300mah Spinner. Current price is about $25.00 before shipping/coupons.

I like the Mini Nova but picked up some bottom coil Kanger T3 also, not bad.

I like the idea of going bigger now so I don't have to later, will the 1300 work with all of my current Ego stuff like my charger etc? THANKS for that heads up, very cool. what's the main diff with that and the Twist? just the 1300vs1000mah?

I've tried a lot of stuff, and I have an ego twist 1000. My favorite for flavor (but they're a pain in the .... until you get used to using them) is the CE2 with them. You can pick up a 5 pack for around $10 and they're way better for flavor than a CE4. For dual coil cartos absolutely! The biggest vapor exhale I've had is with an XL dual coil, and you can crank them all the way to 4.8 without burning them out. You'll be filling it a lot though! I've had the 650 and the 1000 and I'd definitely recommend the 1000 unless you just need something stealthy. Unless I'm vaping all day a 1000 will usually last all day, a 650 definitely won't. Good luck!

Hi....Check out the joyetech 18650 V2 mod. I should be getting mine in a couple of snail mail days - it only has 2 settings but I like the idea of a little more umph than my Twists & that I could just pop in a fresh battery when need be. Don't get me wrong, I've been using the 'twist' since it came out & have been very pleased, however, I realized that I never dialed it over 4.2 & the batt charged life was just annoying (not long enough, could be me). The mod runs approx. $20 + whatever batteries you decide on.....anyways, wishing you luck on whatever you decide.:vapor:

trying to decide between the Joyetech 1000 vv Twist, or the Vision Ego 1300 vv. decisions decisions. kinda cool, but also hate making the call and screwing up,... again. lol. thanks for all the input, I really and truly appreciate it.

the vision spinner is better - vision outdid joyetech on this one, feels more solid and better built, easier to see the numbers, little heavier and solid feeling and the xtra 300mh dont hurt either. yet its just a hair shorter because it's a little fatter.
wish it came out before I got the twists i would have bought a handful of these first.

I have both the Twists and the Spinners. I like the Spinners better. I am going to be upgrading beyond this to something a bit stouter in the very near term. I think that I may end up with either a zmax or a provari. Probably the Zmax because I want to play around with variable wattage.

As far as juice delivery systems, I have played around with a bunch. I've got a case full of CE2s, CE4s, Ego megas, cartos, carto tanks, and vivi novas. I haven't spent more than about $12 on any particular juice delivery system. Of the ones I've tried, I like the vivi novas best. However, you MUST clean the vivi novas very regularly or the silica wicks will gunk up and not deliver any flavor. After about a tank, I notice that flavor is decreasing. Depending on the juice, flavor is gone after about three tanks. I keep several spare heads and pop the used ones off each evening to douse in a container full of grain alcohol for a day or so. Dry em out, do a couple of quick dry burns, and presto, the flavor is back. Next on my list is to rebuild a few heads with stainless mesh to see what happens. My mesh and wick should be here next week.

Point of all of this - don't be afraid to shop around. It may take you some time to find what you like. I've got more new juice delivery systems already on the way, and I'm sure I will continue to experiment even after I find the ultimate vaping experience. I do think the vivis are pretty darn good for the money so I suggest you try them out. I also suggest that you try out a spinner. They're a great way to start in on the VV scene.

you guys are top shelf. you have taught me so much last few days that my wife is also wanting to upgrade, works out great. My parents are getting our current set-ups till they learn more, get them off the smokes, and we are both most likely going with the Spinners, with the CE4's for now, later more...always upgrading, these things already remind me of software...trust me, I'm taking all this info and have spent days looking at set ups you guys recommended. It was all trial and error up until now. Started with Blu, sent them back, got a couple 510 and Ego, still smoke free and getting some pretty nice setups thanks to you! Very cool of you all to help out this much, couldn't ask for better info or friendlier advice. THANK YOU!!!!

next up, DIY liquids, already started doubling stuff I like, adding a little here, taking away a little there.... haha. at least find one supplier I like across the board. hit and miss so far, it's all subjective tastes and subjective vapor...lol, next month...gnight all.

dezyner, I try to recommend to any newer members to book mark the following :
ECF's own deals and steals thread : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/85781-deals-steals.html
Vapor Joe's Blogspot : http://.........blogspot.com/

I'd also like to suggest you go through the process to be a Verified Member.
Read this : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/announcements-news/283955-how-become-verified-member.html

The advantage of being verified is you have access to the classified section and the ability to participate in Co-Ops.
Co-Ops allow for some tremendous savings . You sacrifice instant gratification in exchange for great cost savings. If you choose to do so, be sure to read the feedback of whoever is running the Co-Op. I just started participating in them and wish I had done so earlier.

As to the Spinner, I have read of many satisfied users. Don't agonize over the purchase. It is a great introduction to variable voltage and since they all eventually lose their ability to hold a charge , you will replace it in time and have a better idea what your must haves are at that time.

There are a lot of directions to go as far as juice delivery. You don't have to try them all at once though. Think of what your biggest concerns are with what you have and ask how to alleviate them. As you may be aware, there are atomizers , cartomizers , rebuildable atomizers , rebuildable tank atomizers , clearomizers , etc. They all have their fans. The trick is finding what fits you, your lifestyle and budget.
