Little history so u know where I'm coming from.
Had a stroke Oct 2012, smoked 1/2pk a day. Started using V2 products cut down to 2 cigs/day. 12-30-14 finally quit analogs been smoke-free now for 6.5 months. I also used Mistic, V2 carts will fit Mistic but Mistic won't fit V2.

Long story short I had problems with V2 bats not getting the puffs they quoted. So I persuaded them to take my 4-bats and 2 chargers back and refund my total payment for those items. So Now I am looking for replacements.

I have spent hours, hrs, hrs, etc. online and the more I research the more complicated it gets. There is so many different types of setups its not funny and looks like allot of Clones and knockoff, unless ur a expert u could be spending big bucks for junk.

I would like to find something with a longer lasting battery so I'm going to upgrade to something bigger. Here's what I would like.

1. Don't want one of those big/LONG baseball bat size E-cigs, need something compact I can slide in my front jeans pocket. Around 5 inches or less total length.
2. Would like to be able to be able to remove and replace the battery inside.
3. I make my own juice, with V2 ecigs I carried 2-3 in my pants pocket, all with different flavors and Nic strengths. So I would like to be able to put at least 2 in my pocket.
4. Be able to replace the coil assembly instead of tossing the hole tank.
5. Prefer to buy in the USA incase I need parts shipped fast. fasttech has some great prices but long ways to ship. I liked this one but can't swap out the battery and about 6" long, but 2 for $20 is a great price. http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004766/1368602-ego-evod-6-in-1-rechargeable-900mah-electronic-cig
6. I like to have on hand several different tanks/carts so when I tire of one flavor I just swap out tanks.

found this on ebay
Kanger Evod 2 Starter Kit New and Improved V2 in Six Colors | eBay

Wonder if its genuine Kanger Evod(what ever that is I have no idea but read its a good one if genuine).
Not bad price if its not a clone, 2 e-cigs and 5 replacement coils. 650 mAh not that high but should get at least 300-400 puffs per charge.

THis one has 5 carts w/2 bats. I like to carry allot of different flavors when I go out so 5 tanks would be great.

Edited: just seen this one is way to long at 7", to bad had a good price.

If you're not wedded to a tube type PV:

Size (including catch cup) Height: 3-1/8" , can take battery in and out, replaceable coil using RBA or can use store bought Cisco atties, juice is on-board: reo mini 2.1

(photo borrowed from Blix's post on ECF in March)

Juice onboard = 3ml. If you want to carry 6ml on board, then REO Grand, a little bigger, size of a business card with 6ml bottle on board. 18650 battery will last you all day.

and last but not least: MADE in the USA (maine). And best customer service in the biz, bar none.

Are you intent on buying online? You could always go to a local b&m and hold the devices that they have to get a feel for them and either buy them there or look for the ones you looked at online. Most b&m have ego starter kits like you are looking at as well as some lightly larger VV devices that are fairly cheap. I would suggest the mvp v2, it worked great for me, 2-3 days sometimes on one charge. its bigger than an ego battery but once you get used to it, it is quite nice

For what it's worth, I quit smoking using V2 Red and the cig-alike batteries. I eventually moved on to an Innokin VV/VW v3 and a pair of Kanger ProTank II Mini's. Those were great and if I were to go back I'd be on the VV v3 + ProMini's again without any regrets - flavorful, small, easy to maintain and cheap. I had a VTR for awhile but never used it much due to portability and weight. Anyhow after a year of Innokin & Kanger, I decided to go hobbyist because I really wanted great flavor in an extremely small package. That lead me to RBAs and Mech Mods like the good old Microstick & Spheroid combo. Talk about small and powerful. Whatever works and keep you out of trouble. V2, say what anyone will, has enabled a lot of people to quit smoking. Good luck!

If you are looking for an ego sized battery like the Evod batteries, your best bet for getting a genuine one is to go with an authorized Kanger vendor. Try discountvapers.com, vapedojo.com and sunvapers. Also, check out the deals and steals thread in the PIF sub forum under social groups and browse the deals.

Box mods are larger, but shorter then ego's. I used to use the MVP, which I think was more pocket friendly then the ego sized iTaste VVv3 without a topper on the top. If you go the box mod route, you can keep the tanks on one pocket and the mod in another. Nothing will pop out of your pocket this way. A 650 mAh ego should also be fine this way as well.

For mech mods, there's a bit more involved then carrying just the mod and some toppers filled with juice. I'm fairly new to mech mods myself, and until I learn to recognize voltage drop by taste, I've been carrying a volt meter in my purse along with my mods so I can check regularly. It's no good to over drain a battery. A mech mod in 18359 mode is quite short however, and you can go for cheap genuine one if you are reluctant to buy a clone. Smok, Kamry, Youde and Hcigar all have at least one genuine mod that is completely their own design. Hcigar also makes clones, bit their clones are high quality.

Looks like the Mech Mods are just a battery holder with a switch, right? This is the only type where a person can remove and replace the actual battery when it goes bad, is that right? But from research you have to know what ur doing with Mech Mods in matching up the battery with the coil ohms. Which is all over my head and I don't care to get into.

So it looks like for me the best bet is the Kanger ProTank II Mini's XJ talked about or the hades jm mentioned.

Bottom line. Need it compact(short) and able to replace coil assembly when it goes bad. That way I don't have to throw the whole tank(cartmizer or clearmizer) away. If I can't get one w/battery replacement I'll just have to go without, thats how V2 bats was.

I'm in a small town with 2 tobacco stores that have very limited Ecig supplies. And what they have is pricey compared to online. So I'll be buying online somewhere.

You get 2 batteries, For you, I would recommend a spinner 1, or 2 in the highest mah, then a joye twist in 650. The 650 will be small, and the 1300 or 1600 (depending on if you want a spinner 1, or 2) will be bigger, but last a lot longer, so you could use the little guy out and about, and the big one at home while the little fellow charges. For the tanks, can't go wrong with evods, but follow your heart.

The Hades is a large mechanical mod. That's not what you wanted, I thought. There are many APVs that have replaceable batteries and are regulated (not mech). You might want to look around this forum.
Variable Voltage APV Discussion

jm said hades he didn't say mech mod hades so I had no idea its a mod. As I said I been vaping since Nov 2012 so I'm not new to it. But most of the lingo u'all talk about in here is greek to me.

Chooseing something to vape with is like deciding which wine to drink when u have never drank wine. There's thousands of different wines, just like e-cigs. I could do research for the next 6 months and still be lost. Tks for all the input, maybe I'll just stick with buying more Mistic. At least I know about them.

Most of the ecig's people mention in here, I have no idea if its a makers name, models name, type of ecig, etc.. Most of the time people like me have no idea what you guys are talking about.
Example: Tinkergirl said, " I used to use the MVP ". I have no idea what that is, makers initials, maker and type initials, etc. To me MVP is Most Valuable Player.

On this one rare occasion, I won't recommend a REO for you. You mentioned a desire to change flavors several times a day, and quite honestly, that is the one and only thing that the REO isn't the best device for... Though the truth is that you sure can use a tank on a REO, but it sort of defeats the purpose...

You are probably on the right track with the kanger tanks since you want to rebuild. So, what you're really looking for is probably a short tube mod. - On the high end of the money scale for vv/vw, but probably real close to your length requirement is the provari mini. It's 4.1 inches long and holds an 18500.

For a mechanical, there are a bunch of them that take 18490s or can be configured to do so. The megalodon comes to mind (it can be lengthened for an 18650 or shortened for an 18490 or even an 18350 if I remember right). The panzer... the bagua... the akuma... etc etc etc. I think you'll probably need to figure out a price range and narrow down the choices with google and then ask some specific questions about whatever fits the budget and looks right for what you want.

I hope that helps.

There are lots of VV/VW tube mods that can run in "short" mode. The "lowly" Vamo is one. You simply remove some of the tubes to use shorter replaceable batteries. Others, like the Innokin SVD, telescope to use different length batteries. You don't have to use a mechanical to use replaceable batteries. Of course, the shorter batteries don't give the run time of the longer ones, so you might need to carry a couple spares.

Most of the "clearo" type toppers can be rebuilt, as long as you're using the single coil versions. The dual coils are not so easy to rebuild, although (in both cases) you can just replace the coil head instead of re-coiling. And you can carry two or three in a suitably cushioned Altoid tin, ready to go.

About carrying in a pants pocket... there's always the chance of the device getting "bent" in the pocket and breaking off the connection, so I personally don't. The connection between topper and battery, especially with 510 devices, is a weak point. But if you do, make sure you turn the battery off to prevent accidental firing. While most regulated mods will turn themselves off if fired too long, mechs won't.

A 4nine clone is shorttt. You can just aim around 1.5-1.8ohm with heads, maybe an Aerotank or a Nautilus would work well for you. Then you dont have to worry about VV. I run without a fuse and use AW IMR batteries as they are very safe and reliable batteries. Its VERY short in 18350, i tend to use in 18500 mode which is slightly longer

With an 18350 and carto tank;
