So here goes.
I want to get my mom off cigs
And after talking to her about how much healthier it is to vape. I finally convinced her to switch.
She's not exactly a heavy smoker, but she'll smoke about 15 cigs a day.
The thing is she doesn't like the look of the mods, I showed her some ego style ones and she was put off mainly because of their size (width to be precise)
Are there any ego style batteries that are slim? What type of tank should I get her?
She has a very specific taste. She asked me if there is something that looks vintage (she really liked mech mods but I'l never get her that LOL too advanced)
I'm rambling.
Anyway what I need is an ego style good battery that looks nice and classy and a small tank to fit it on, and a pack of good long lasting atomizers.
Sorry for the wall of text I just can't find anything so far.
Thanks

I was like your mom and I went from blu because of it being cigalike but costly, to the ego loved it but being a pk and half smoker the battery life would not last all day so went through about 3 a day until I upgraded. I wish you luck on getting her smoke free!

15 cigs is pretty much pack-a-day smoking. Your mom may be willing to give it a go, but she might need to go baby steps like many of us have done and mentioned up thread. I would try the cig-a-likes even though they are not perfect. I started with Blu and when I knew it had possibilities, I went to a B&M to get a ego style vape pen and some better juices to find my happy place and quit the burning smokes for good. I've since moved up due to deeming, but I know I DID.NOT.WANT anything back then that looks like what I have now.

If your mom likes the look of the steam-punk and some of the mech's, you might find a jwrap for a regulated mod that she likes and you can wrap it to look the way she wants. One thing you may want to keep in mind is that your mom is a girl, and probably likes girl things like purses. One of her criteria is likely to be something purse friendly for out in the wild. She may also be a bit self-conscious about what she looks like using a big-honkin-mod.

The little Pico everyone likes is a good inexpensive little box mod that could work for her. If she likes steam-punk the black/bronze model is actually fairly elegant with the glossy black and copper colored metal bits.

not tryin' to criticize, but just sayin....

It's a fair bet most of us started out with a cigalike. And after discovering their shortcomings graduated to something more worthwhile. That was my experience too. But the puny device served its purpose in showing that vaping would do it for me. Maybe after that she won't be put off by a device with a higher battery capacity. Form following function, that means a larger device.

That's how I was, I needed a battery to last all day that's why I started upgrading!

I had the same thoughts when I started Vaping! I wanted close to a cigarette style- used the Mistic Bridge Kits, some cartidges and some Haus eliquids in Cool Ice and American Tobacco! Worked for me, I quit a 30+ year cigarette habit using that! I moved up to the Joyetech eCabs and used those for many months! I liked the eLeaf iStick Basic Kit too! Mig Cig is another great kit!
Now I am using mods and RTAs I have been a vaper for over 2years now and would never think to go back to cigarettes!
Also, your Mom is old enough to decide- If you buy everything for her when shes not ready it will sit in a drawer, take her to vape shops and make her spend her own money, try out different devices and juice!
I tried to get my hubby to quit cigarettes too- while he vapes at work, he still smokes cigarettes at home- out in the garage! He is an adult- I can't force him, so I know you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink applies! He says he never wanted to quit smoking, like I did, but he has cut way back, which is a minor victory!

I'd actually suggest a different route; something like the Eleaf Icare or one of the pod systems like the MyJet. I smoked for over 40 years, it's harder for some than for others, to make the switch....I think those kits probably offer the experience closest to smoking...I'd also suggest starting her on at least 12 mg juice, I started with 18. Once the habit is broken, she (or you) can find the more perfect vape for her. She's lucky to have you helping her! Good luck to both of you!

I've heard that Mig Cigs are pretty good. Fairly expensive though.

Smoked for 42+ years, 1 - 1 1/2 PAD. I started vaping in Nov. 2013 with a JoyeTech double 510 kit, with (2) 320mAh batteries, (2) short atomizers, (5) foam-filled, refillable combination drip tip/mouthpiece, (1) charging cord, (1) wall plug, and a manual. Cost me $42.95 for the kit and another $18 for (4) little 10mL bottles of eliquids I chose, with 2 being 12mg and 2 being 6mg. I used those things for 2 months while tapering off the smokes, and had my last 1 Jan. 2014.

Continued using that kit, and just added a bunch of the little Vision Nano Clearomizers that each held 1mL of eliquid. They were disposable when the coil burned out, but would last me about a week each. Then I added eGo 650 and 1100mAh batteries, and used them with the Nanos and Innokin 16D Clearomizers that were larger and took replaceable coils. Used all of that, and nothing bigger, for the first 2 years of vaping!

First venture into a mod was a tiny little Eleaf iStick Mini 10W. I loved that little thing, and bought several of them for friends and others who would ask about vaping. I used them with the Innokin 16D clearomizers and also some Protank II Mini tanks I'd bought to use with them. I even recently bought a bunch of the Mini 10W to put in my vape stash, too!

I've gotten a large variety of bigger, more powerful mods, a variety of other types & sizes of tanks, RBAs, etc., in the last year or so. But I still use all the smaller, less powerful, beginning stuff, too, at times.

Those little JoyeTech double 510 kits are still available, too. I got several for less than $20/kit to put in my stash. Lately, I've even seen some for even less than I paid. The little iStick Mini 10W are also available for as low as $16 on some websites.

Finding what your Mom likes and will use though...is the key in determining if she's going to like vaping enough, for it to help her quit smoking. Everyone's preferences are different, and I personally never decide on what someone else should start with. I always show them a variety of set-ups and let him/her choose. Have had so far 9 success stories doing it that way, and I'm working on another one. :)

EDIT: Wrote all of that above to point out that what someone starts vaping with, doesn't have to be expensive, or the newest thing, or really powerful, etc., so long as it works for, and is comfortable for, that person. Upgrading at a later point is always an option!

I have a friend who swears by these and is all she uses! I Think they are expensive too- especially disposable tanks, I told her of a kanger tank that was not disposable and would work, but she didn't like coil tinkering and said those tanks leaked! She has not had a cigarette in almost 4 years! She likes the automatic and push button and loves that this holds it charge throughout the battery life and loves their eliquid too, which I think is too expensive too! Maybe you can catch a good sale on these?
Just throwing another idea out there- I have never used these!
