I believe they are the same. My wife got this for me but I only use squonker so it just sits.

They are not the same.

The V2.1 has the following improvements:

- Machined box
(The V2 Hexohms used a regular off-the-shelf Hammond "project" box that leaned when you set it down because the box was not square.)
- Upgraded potentiometer
- 3D printed battery sled
- Battery ribbon

Things that are the same:

- Circuit board
- 510 connector
- Switch
