An inevitability. And yeah, it's a good and bad thing. Good because it could help legitimize it but bad because they'll Walmart the industry. They can afford regulation and the smaller companies likely can't.
Another bad possibility I can think of is that instead of legitimizing it, the opposite could play out. To all of those people who argue it undermines years of "denormalizing" smoking (because it *looks* like smoking...), having Big
tobacco involved may poison the well simply from an association point of view. At least now it's a separate thing. Imagine the panties twisted if it's the same enemy promoting both things! Haha.
