I have an XPower which comes with wall plugin charger. This charger plug into the wall and has a USB connection on top. In other words I plug in a USB connector to the wall charger with a USB plug on one end and screw in the Xpower battery on the other end.

Does anyone know if I can charge other batteries that have a USB adapters?
Can I use this wall unit as a pass through with my

Can I plug my KR808D-1 USB pass through into this wall unit and use it that way.

I am still new to vaping, vaping about a month now. During the last couple of years I have been trying to keep my smoking to about half a pack a day and that was a struggle. I was smoking a pack or more a day for over forty years. I was fortunate to find this forum before I bought anything and that saved me from making mistakes that might have turned me off to vaping. I was kind of skeptical at first and didn't really believe that vaping would get me off of tobacco. After doing some reading some on this forum, well actually a lot of reading I ordered a XLV4l manual kit and a sampler pack of 24mg Premium Coolcarts berry flavors. I still didn't think it would get me off of tobacco but seemed to be worth a try even if it only helped me to cut down a bit.

When my kit arrived I took a few puffs and thought to myself "hey this isn't bad at all". At this time I still had a pack of Winston's sitting on my table with four cigarettes left. I wasn't even thinking or really trying to quit tobacco at this time because like many other smokers I always failed to quit in the past. Two days of vaping and just two cigarettes a day later I knew my tobacco days were over. I can't describe how surprised, no amazed and astonished I was that I no longer had any desire for tobacco. I will be eternally grateful to this forum and the wonderful people who take the time and effort to write on it.

At this time I am using a 900 XPower and a manual Vapor King KR808D with some Backwoods Brew juice. I like the KR808D better with the Berry flavors and the XPower with some of the stronger or tobacco flavors. Pretty satisfied with both of them but I'm sure that I will be trying other battery cart combinations in the near future.

It tends to depend on if the wall wart part (the thing going from AC plug to USB connector) has enough output (milliamps, mA) to drive whatever you're connecting to it.

Many wall warts for ecigs are rated anywhere from 80 - 150 mA output -- it'll be printed on the unit. This won't drive, for instance, many passthroughs, which require anywhere from 1.5 - 2A (1500 - 2000 mA). If I have a 3 ohm cartomizer, and my passthrough outputs a regulated 4.7V, I need a wall wart that provides 4.7/3 = 1.57 A (1570 mA) of current.

There's a decent wall wart available from Walmart, $10, made by IQ. It has 2 USB ports, has 2A total drive. (iQ-Power Dual USB AC Power Adapter)

Same holds true for the car cigarette lighter adapters -- if you buy one, get something rated for 2A output.

(It's pretty common to see people say a PT isn't working, or works poorly, on a computer, because the computer doesn't source enough mA of current. Also, you run the risk of frying the PC if you get a short in the PT -- better to lose a $10 wall wart than a PC.)

Thanks for the quick answers.

I just tried a KR808 pass through on the Xpower wall wart and it didn't work. Is that what it's called a "wall wart"? So I guess it doesn't produce enough power. Works well on my USB computer hub. I always try to use an externally powered hub for my computer connections. Any USB device can go bad and fry your computer.

I am now charging a XLKR808 battery on it. When I plugged it into the wall wart the blue light flashed and the red light on the USB charger is on. Might work, I'll leave it on a few hours and try it. The battery hasn't been drained much so I'm not sure how much I can tell with it. I'll use my other one up today and plug it in overnight.

Look at the charger piece (the USB-to-808 connector part). Stamped on it will be the needed input power (x Volts, Y mA). If your wall wart is rated output >= Y, it should be fine.

I've tried a couple USB hubs, inconsistent results. One hub, at work, kinda sorta worked, but only with some cartos -- it was clearly on the hairy edge, and if I had a high resistance carto it was okay, but not for lower resistance ones. With the dedicated 2A power supply never a problem.

Does the plug have a sticker that gives its power specs? I run all my stuff off a powered hub too 12 ports enough room to charge everything from e-cigs to my xbox controllers lol.

The Xpower wall wart has an output of DC 5v, 800 Milliamps
The XPower USB Model SMR-112 charger has an output 2V, 2 amps
The Vapor King XL KR 808 wall Charger no USB has an output 4.2V, 200 Milliamps

No sticker on the Vapor King KR 808 pass through.

I Like the idea of using one hub or wall wart to power all of my PV devices but still don't want to use the one on my computer all of the time. So I will be looking for one to buy. 6 to 12 ports sounds about right.

This makes more sense to me than any other explanation I've read so far! Thanks, mark!

Excuse me for butting in.
How can I find out this information on my PC?
I never even thought about the PC's power aspect for using a passthrough.

Probably in your mobo manual, if its a prebuilt maybe on the manufacturers website.
No manual. Prebuilt with all the bells and whistles I didn't want or need. But it was in my price range.
I had hoped I might accidently find it in the Control Panel somewhere.
I'll see if I can find the web version.

Thanks...

Well The XPower UBB Wall wort works fine to charge the KR808. I guess that means I can also use my USB car adapter with any battery. I am also guessing that if I want to try other batteries on the cheap. I can just buy a TP and plug it in. That should give me an idea of how the the battery will taste and how much smoke it will produce. Good thing to know. I wonder if there is a variable voltage PT around somewhere? Now to see if I can find the wall wort at Wallmarts that WomanOfHeart suggested. I don't really want to risk plugging into mu mac and the wall wort is a bit more portable.

Thanks to everyone for you input. I still have a lot more to learn about lithium batteries.
