jack:

yup... unlike abechik who can withstand weeks of waiting for his goods to reach the shores of malaysia... I would prefer some local sellers... :D

saw a couple like e8-rokok and those on lelong.com but they no longer have them in stock... :(

question: I thought Ego is 510? Or did I get that wrong?
blackrage ... Ego just name given by manufacturer.. They do have multiple type of connection .. I've seen people use 901 connectivity in M'sia

Haha...Abechik....nampak nama kamu saja....terus timbul. Hehe.

Blackrage.....Ego and 510 are two different models of e-cig. However, they do often share the same type of battery connector, where the battery screws onto your atomizer or cartomizer. This connector is often referred to as the 510. There are several types of common connectors...e.g. 510, 901, 801, etc.

When I was talking about the 510 passthrough, I was referring to the type of passthrough that looks like a 510 model e-cig battery. There are also passthroughs that look like the Ego model, but not commonly available in Malaysia, as far as I've seen.

One thing to keep in mind when using a passthrough.....a lot of them actually do transfer the full 5V from your USB port onto the cartomizer or atomizer. You should try to avoid using LR atomizer or cartomizers just to be safe, as the higher 5V voltage will most probably fry an LR atomizer.

I heard some complains about ego pass through, less vapour!

Some manufacturer's add-in batteries for ego usb pass through, including Joye.....was it due to this problem or what??
Means, you need to charge the usb pass through also....what the hack??

My idea of using pass through is to save battery life, but now have to care about the usb pass through battery also, i'm not sure about you all....i don't see the purpose of using it anymore.
unless the user thinks the cost of usb pass through battery is cheaper than ego battery....

Personal experience or heard thru the grapevine?

1)Passthrough has always been a backup to main batteries
2)Ego by Joyetech USB batteries are passthroughs and also rechargables, which is great!

These are my personal experience.

Frankly, I don't really see the point of a USB passthrough either. A moderate to mild vaping during a day will not have much of a chance to get through more than about 2ml of juice a day, which most Ego or Riva batteries can easily handle without needing to recharge. If you're into chain vaping and using up 5 or more ml of eliquid a day....that's a different story.....may go through 2 units of 1100mah Riva batteries before you get home at night.

In other words, most of the 650mah or higher batteries usually can last a mild to moderate use through the day. Just charge when you go to bed, and it's ready the next morning for another full day's use.

If you're really heavy.....may as well consider a big battery mod that gives you more than 1600mah or even up to 2500mah. Without the passthrough, you get the freedom that you get from a portable e-cig running on battery. To me, the passthrough is only good for somebody who's stuck at a computer through half of the day.

If you have ego, it's battery is so long perhaps having a PT isn't for purpose to save battery life.

Perhaps PT are good for places like office, car, tv room which the user will sit there for long time and keep vaping.

Today i ordered some Joye ego-t atomizers, was wondering should i get some pt or not.....

I am stuck in front of a computer more than half of the day! lol...

ok... how do I know if my ego is 510 or 801 or 901 or 501?

Some of us do sit for more than half a day on a desk facing a computer. Usb passthrough is nice to have for someone like me who loves the idea of 2 freshly charged battery left untouched while im vaping away on a passthrough. I guess there is a use for anything related to vaping.

I got a chance to use an unregulated passthrough today....this means that it doesn't get your voltage down to 3.7 or whatever....and the flavor and TH was phenomenal....hahaha.....that's one reason you may want to use a PT....gives you the LR atomizer at 3.7V experience.

is it yours or someone else's? any idea where is it from?

A friend's. It's a home-made thing that basically pumps out 5v to the atomizer. Kinda scary, coz it's not regulated. Then again, if it fails, all you're gonna lose is an atty or a carto. Maybe fry a usb port on your pc. Hehe.

If you're still looking for a pt, there's a guy selling 510 pt right now on lelong.
