So I should be getting my 510 USB passthrough tomorrow but after reading a few things on this forum about them frying computers, I'm a little wary. Am I really taking a chance of wrecking my laptop if I use it?

Can I get the wall plug in at any store or do I need to order it online? Also, how long are the pt cords usually?
The length on a Joye 510 PT is 100cm (3.28 ft). I looked at a couple of USB wall chargers at Walmart yesterday but they are about $12 here, online they are usually less than $5 shipped.
