Use GGTS without collector tank

Has anyone tried to use GGTS with Ody (in Ody base) but without collector tank?

I've noticed that if I remove the bottom spring and use rethreader ring instead of telescope part, I could fit an AW IMR 18490 battery in the same height as AW IMR 18350 battery with collector tank.

I've checked collector tank before doing that and it was empty, just the slight condensation on the inner walls.

Is it safe even if there is no leakage from the atty?

What are your thoughts?

Just to have a bigger battery while still retaining pocket friendly format.
But of course, only if it's safe.

Oh I see what you're saying.. so basically you're looking to eliminate the whole collector tank and connection? And just have the battery touching the Ody positive post?
I personally wouldn't do that.. I wouldn't want to risk a single drop of juice on my batteries at all. I'm not really sure how damaging that is, though..

A nice thing would be a shorter collector tank or only a GGTS connector with the airflow control ring. Like a Stealth top cap with GGTS native connection and airflow control ring.

Don't do that juice can touch battery and you will get problems. Thats why collector tank was made not only to keep juice from battery but to maximise on less of a voltage drop.
