Used cartomizer question

I took a still usable cartomizer out of my tank yesterday so I could put in a new one because I wanted to switch juice without overlapping flavors so with the cartomizer being out like that can I keep it and still use it down the road or will the juice thats still saturated in the filler material go bad now that its out in the open air?

I think it depends in how long it is out for. The juice won't go bad I don't think but it might taste funny or bad

Why not just clean the carto out and get it ready for the next flavor?

I think if you plan to keep it out more than a week it will probably taste funny.
Just buy another tank so you have two and then you can have two tanks each with different juice

I stash old cartomizers and use them again. Before I do I pluck them out of the tank put a drip tip on it and cook the juice out. Not till it burns though.Let one sit for a couple weeks and dropped it back in my tank. Worked good

thats what i would do,but then put the condoms back on.if juice sits long enough in the air it will gum up the insides

If you just put condoms (the little rubber bootie things) on both ends, and keep it in a little plastic bag you shouldn't have any trouble. Just try to get the condoms that will cover the hole(s) in the carto, too. I've kept some around a couple of weeks and gone back to using them with no trouble at all. I do the same thing with EMSCCs...I just put them in a plastic baggie (like the vendors send when you order stuff) and they stay fine for weeks and weeks!

Edit to add: I am VERY picky about my flavor and will notice the slightest "off" taste or change. I haven't had any issues storing cartos as described.

LOL condoms don't work so hot on punched cartos. You may want to wrap your own with plastic wrap.

Some cartomizers come with longer condoms. The Boge do...at least the ones I get! They cover the holes, unless you've punched up high: like halfway up!

OR...you can cut a condom so it's just a little tube and slip it over the holes..then put regular condoms on the ends.

That should work. After all you can purchase prefilled cartos. Not much difference.

I clean mine out every once in a while with the boiling method, very easy and even seems to resurrect the ones that start drawing too tightly. Check out Pbusardo's video on YouTube for cleaning cartons if interested.

I recently got a deal on Smok cartos for 50cent a pop and ordered a bunch of 'em so I could check out a LOT of juices that I'd had steeping for a long while.... specifically so that I could boil them clean and re-use. Wonderful!
Keep 'em condomed and in a baggie like everyone said, which is what I'm doing til I figure out all these juices, and you're good to go
