Hey all. I always clean my atty's at least once a week. But I've always been curious to know, and am just asking now. When you clean your atty, you need like 6-8 shots of juice to get things rolling properly, because if you put on the usual 1-2 drops you'l taste the nastiest nast you've ever tasted. MY question is why does a recently cleaned atty need so many drops to get going? Where the heating element is located, does it need to kind of fill up like a gas tank so the juice is level with the heating element? lol thanks.

As noted by AttyPops, a completely cleaned or blown out atomizer needs more drops to get saturated.
These extra drops are needed to fill up the mesh that surrounds the ceramic cup/coil, and the bridge/wicking material.

If you have debridged/dewicked then you probably need less drops, because your atomizer now holds less drops.

After cleaning it with water, alcohol or whatever, the wick inside the coil will remain wet even after blowing them - unless you have left it for a few days or use something like a bicycle pump. The heating element is covered with what appear to be a mesh. That is why others would recommend heating to dry the wick but this is dangerous - it can overheat and kill the atty. No you do not need to fill it with anything, just drag a few times and you get your flavor back.
