Heyo....

I drip exclusively with 510s with a rotation of about 8-10 attys. I have no idea how old they all are becuase I am dumb and mixed them all together; some are over a year old and some are about two months old. When they start to taste bad I give an alcohol bath and they are like new. Usually.

Recently I have been noticing a few attys acting weird; they go from that dry, no liquid at all taste after being cleaned. Right, that's to be expected.

One drop of liquid and it is gurgling and cant get a hit.

I think I have this dripping thing down, usually the sweet spot for the juice I use and bottle size is two drops; that will last about ten hits.

With these flaky attys, one drop might gurgle like crazy or it might still be dry, then two drops makes it all Warrrrgggggbllllll and I have to clean it.

Is this a sign of an atty that is just dead tired and ready to be pitched?

At that point probably the only cure is a dry burn after the alcohol bath. You will probably find that only one coil of element is lighting up at first. Not a good thing to do to an atty, but when they are ready for the trash can anyway ...... why not.

Good call, will have to try that. Is there anyway to tell if only one coil is lighting?

Thanks
