Using argon to extend shelf life

I was just curious if anyone had tried using a product like this http://www.amazon.com/Oenophilia-Private-Preserve-Wine-Preserver/dp/B0000DCS18

This is used by wine enthusiasts to replace the air in the bottle to prevent oxidation. Might it also work for bottles that are split and saved for long time storage? Just my 2c.

That would surely minimize oxidation.

I've had my large bottles of nic in freezer since oct 2009. If I wasn't lazy I would buy several small bottles and transfer to minimize air cap.

To date I use them fast enough so juice always tastes fresh.

Unless someone is stockpiling a 5 year supply, why go to the trouble and expense?

Of course we can use argon. We can even use xenon, because its density is way higher than in case of argon. But in fact it dosen't make sense. The oxidation of nicotine is quite slow in a closed container. Replacing air with argon would slow it down by 1% perhaps.

Define "long term". And please... don't use the word juice - this is a solution of nicotine - a deadly substance. The word "juice" is misleading.

Thank you Old Chemist. You answered my question. I was more curious if it had a negligible impact on storage. Not sure who im confusing with the term juice but maybe its use is unnecessary.

Depending what is used as a base, whether in the freezer or not they are reaching expiratiob. Only Pure nicotine doesn't have a shelf life perse and that would be 1000mg (or 999mg)

Really? Could you provide us with the source of this interesting information?

You forgot the key word "perse". It has been discussed by several members in your field.

Everything has a shelf life of course. The shelf life of liquids is 2 years with PG and 1.5-2 years with VG. Once upon a time folks were adamant of mentioning this piece of data for one reason or another. It is nice to see it coming out of the closet finally and find its way on bottles now from some vendors.

Financial advantages for assigning over conservative short shelf life.
Risk lawsuit if assign excessively long shelf life.
