I have a pair of sneakers that I love. They fit great, they're comfortable, and they look good. If I wanted to only own one pair of shoes, these would be the ones and they would take me wherever I want to go. But even though these sneakers get the job done, I like having a pair of boots for rain and snow and some high heels to wear with dresses and flip-flops for the beach. In fact, I have several pairs of boots because I like to change them up depending on my mood and the situation.

That's how I look at PVs. I could vape pretty happily if I only owned a good supply of twists. I really could. But when I can afford it, I like to indulge in other PVs that fit certain moods and situations better than a twist. I like my Provari when I'm sitting on the couch at home watching a movie or TV. I have e-Rolls and 450mah e-Go C's that I absolutely love when I need something I can stick in my pocket and use between meetings. I also love those when I'm at my computer writing, which is most of the day, because they are light and I can type while still holding one. I also like the e-Roll for trying out new flavors since the tank is small. And for the rest of the time, I use my twists with a stardust on them. The twists are my sneakers--dependable, comfortable, and my go-to choice. But for me, it's nice to have a kickin' pair of boots to slip on when I feel like it. :headbang:

It really is all personal preference.

I'm in a similar position as you. I looked hard for a new pv to buy since I love to buy stuff but there just doesn't seem to be anything out there right now that would be a substantial upgrade from my twist. A pro vari would tell me the resistance of my atty - which is cool. It would also let me use a wider variety of gear - in terms of resistance. But assuming I've got the right thing attached to my twist - the vape quality will be mostly the same. I'm keeping my eyes out for new variable wattage mods and may go that direction when one comes out that I really like

Just had to let you know, comparing an eGo/kGo to a big battery MOD is like comparing a cig-a-like to a eGo/kGo. They just don't come close. A VV ego/kgo definitely has different (lower) quality vape compared to a ProVari.

I started with 2 kGo 1100mah and a kGo VV w/ a Mini Vivi Nova and LOVED it. I never even used my 1100mah batteries until my kGo VV stopped firing (about 3 months after first use). All I ever used was my kGo VV and mini Vivi nova. Then I decided to make the leap and bought a Satin Black ProVari w/ 18650 extension as my second PV. It is a night and day difference. The vape quality, even when using the same atty/clearo/carto, is much better than my oh so loved kGo VV. I have had my ProVari for 6 months and I have not had any issues AT ALL. I have dropped it while working on my stunt motorcycle in the garage, dropped it in the workshop, knocked it over a bunch of times when reaching for it, got e-juice all over it and a bunch of ..... My point is, I beat the hell out of it and it still works like the day I bought it. It's a tank. On top of that, the software is terrific. There is much more to the ProVari than being able to check Ohm levels and using more gear.

But, I understand that not everyone can justify buying a $200+ mod even though they will never HAVE to buy another (like you will with spinner/twist). Not everyone needs a ProVari. If you want to try something new, I would highly recommend a BOLT mod and maybe buy a kick to put in it. I personally want to buy a BOLT and a kick to try out VW and have a mechanical mod as an option.

Another mod I have heard good things about (but never tried) is the VMax. Also, the eGo 18650 tube mod is a very cheap way to get into big battery PVs and test the waters but I would recommend to stick with a VV mod.

Well put JudeD and Tanks - I just bought a VMax earlier today and should hopefully receive it by Tuesday with some fresh vivi novas to get it a go. I really excited and I totally agree with what everyone is saying here. It's kind of a you get what you pay for deal - hopefully the VMax isn't too big as I do most of my vaping while driving but I thought the ego would be too big when I switched from an 808D and now it feels like the perfect size.

As much as I hate to say it - I feel like I'll have a Provari before the summer, you can only resist the dark side for so long :(
