I was just wondering if anyone has tried using pure silver wire on the ni200/Ti TC mods??

I have a crap ton of pure silver wire from building my NR-R-NR builds and was curious if it would be possible.
I just do not want to be the first to bust my mod???

Any thoughts or opinions if it would work??

Silver has a temperature coefficient of resistivity comparable to that of titanium, so from that perspective if titanium works, silver should too. However, silver has the lowest resistivity of all metals. That means you'd need a lot of wraps of very thin wire to get the same resistance as a nickel coil.

I'm thinking it won't work. The resistance change when heated is too small.

With nickel you get about a .6ohm change in resistance between 70F and 450F. With Titanium you would be around a .4ohm change. With Silver that will be about a .2ohm change. You would have to compensate by setting your temperature to 250F or lower, if you can get it to go that low.
