Hi guys,
I am looking for a new mod and I was wondering. If I buy a TC mod, like the istick 40w, can I use a regular coil and tank and just use the device in the regular watts mode. Or do I have to use the TC coils even if I am not using the TC mode on the device. I would like to use a 1.5 to 1.8 ohm coil and just run the device between 7 and 9 watts.

Why buy a device with tc if you're not going to use that feature?

The way I see it; TC devices are no more expensive than those without it. I don't currently use TC but I have it in three mods and consider it a plus just in case I want to use it one day. TC in a mod has no negatives that I know of.

Also, the most feature rich boards out there these days like the SX350J and DNA200 have it, so if you want the features they have you're stuck with it.

Once your comfortable with your new mod you will always have the option of trying out temp control with the proper coils.

You can use standard could in wattage/power mode. I used Kanthal coils on the Istick40tc mod a long time. I have the istick60tc mod now with Kanthal coils.

I have titanium wire and will get into TC soon.
