Hello,

I've been vaping for a few years now and I would like to try my hand at mixing some juice. I have been doing a lot of reading and found three different types of USP grade nicotines. I was wondering which of the three would be my best choice. USP Kosher, USP Pharmacopia or USP vaping grade. I have read the USP vaping grade would be my best bet, but I would rather have some feed back from experienced DIY'ers. I would also be grateful if pointed in the right direction to buy in bulk. Thanks for any help in advance and as always, Happy vaping!

Awesome, Thanks for the advice everyone, its very much appreciated.

Do any of you have any thoughts on where to get some good flavors. I have read a lot of threads about TFA and a few others. From what I have read TFA is a good start. Whats your thoughts?
I'm working through TFA flavors. I'll try the other brands in a year. I'm mixing 5ml batches of 5% single flavors. I figure once I have some taste experience under my belt I can start compounding recipes. I was surprised how strong coffee(clear) was and how soft strawberry(ripe) is. I'm finding different parts of my tongue are tickled. Some flavors have shown only on exhale. And of course the throat hit is different from one to another. . All this I write down.

I've ordered from Wizard Labs and The DIY Shop. Both are close in price, but Wizard Labs puts their samples into glass bottles. And only a glass bottle will keep a flavor from deteriorating over a years time. I expect some of the flavors I buy I may not touch again for that length of time. Plastic is good for about 3 months, so I'm told. I buy my nicotine from the cheapest reputable vendor. The last 120ml 100mg/ml batch came from Heartland in Oklahoma at $16 a plastic bottle. Tasting and learning is a long process. Hope you enjoy DIY:)

Kosher simply relates to cleanliness so that just means the lab is clean enough to eat off the floors.

Most any Pharma grade product would meet or exceed Kosher standards.

Exactly. It has to do with the manufacturing process. You do not need to be Jewish to prefer that it be Kosher ;)

This a common misconception. I worked at Del Monte to get through college. I noticed the 'K' on the label and asked where the rabbi was? I was told they just see every so many years as long as they pay for the emblem. Del Monte produces some of the lowest USDA grade canned fruit in the industry. I don't know about the circle 'U.'

Kosher may not meet USP standards but to truly be USP it would have to be Kosher. If a company is violating the labeling standards there is not much we can do. All we can do is hope that the labels on the products we buy are truthful. And inspectors are often paid to look the other way so abuse can happen. But you don't need a Rabbi on site for a product to meet Kosher standards. There are plenty of Kosher Deli's and Restaurants that don't keep a Rabbi chained up in the kitchen.

I have seen the usp kosher on a lot of sites, indeed it's cheaper than a higher quality nicotine. I'm after quality though and not sure I want mix what I can buy offline or at any other shop. I'm definitely looking for the pharma grade or higher. I have checked wizard Labs but they are sold out and was wondering if anyone has had any luck and could point me to a site you trust with the pharma or Vaping grade. I'm not interested in the kosher as I'm in it for the quality and being able to buy bulk is a huge plus as well. Thanks again for all the help and advice.

Indeed I had noticed the huge price difference from the kosher to the pharma/vaping grade. The more I read into it Im beginning to think its a sham. But Im sure ill end up trying out a small bottle of both to see what the difference may be and if there is anything to brag about with the pharma+ grade nicotine.

So if nicotine is stored in glass will a bottle fresh for up to a year? I read it somewhere and cant find it now, just want to confirm it I guess.

If you referring to VG/PG the same quality as what WL sells can be had from Essential Depot. Every retail juice shop I know uses them and as has been said USP is the same thing as Pharma Grade as others call it. If you buy from WL of course they aren't big enough to buy VG/PG direct from the source. Since ED sells these products for Soap, Makeup and tons of other uses aside from vaping of course they can get it at a better price. Where as WL has to buy it bulk from a distributer, bottle it up and make a profit on the product, labor and packaging. The same goes for many other vaping specific sources that sell a tiny fraction the amount that a company like ED sells.

And if you email John the owner of WL he will tell you like it really is. He is of course willing to sell you what you need and not everyone needs liters of PG/VG. But even he will tell you that you can get better prices elsewhere for certain things in bulk. In fact he once advised me to buy flasks on Amazon when he was out of stock. So if anyone has questions about what is safe and wants good honest advice you can always go to the source. I would also expect Nude Nicotine and others would give similar advice their customers. If WL was not using large quantities of VG/PG to cut nic the price would probably be even higher.

As for nic if you store it in the freezer at sub zero with minimal oxygen exposure it should stay fresh many years.
