Guess we were lucky today, this is how a repaired woodvil was found in the mailbox. Lucky it was in the box. I feel confident it did not leave Maine like this...

If it was in the box, did you pre-sign? That is scary. And the one reason I insure and do signature delivery on all the REO's I send out. Plus I tape all sides of the box!

You were VERY lucky!

My heart would drop if I would see my box like that. Glad everything worked out.

Agreed on these USPS boxes I always double and triple tape these boxes.

It always amazes me how a company like USPS that focuses only on shipping stuff can't even come up with a shipping container that actually seals correctly.

I used to work for USPS and I agree, tape everything with the clear packaging tape, duct tape doesn't hold up. The packages go through a lot while being processed and , unfortunately , some PO workers aren't the most trusting. Something like that, would be the carrier's fault, unless your local PO isn't the most honest.

This was a repair Karen so no signature. The box was taped since it had been previously used. Scarier yet everyone....It was my wife's treasured rosewood/birdseye woodvil.

I don't mean to rant either but that is why I had to put a disclaimer on my sales now. I shipped to an FPO and was actually proud to do so since I know these guys that serve out country sometimes have a hard time getting stuff. Well, it got lost and since I told him I will fully insure it for the whole amount, I had to give him a full refund. It's been a month now and my claim is still pending. And here is my worst nightmare....

A friend of mine shipped USPS with insurance for full value of his stuff. It got lost and when he filed a claim, USPS told hime they are only paying him half despite of the proof of value since they feel its only worth that much. WHAT??? How can they do that??? It made me think of all the money I paid for insurance that would have never paid off in case they got lost. Since then, I use USPS priority with disclaimers for my buyers. I am not responsible for lost mail and only using USPS priority for the delivery service and tracking. Some people might not like it and I might lose some potential buyers but that's how its gonna have to be. I don't have a problem issuing refunds if items are not as described or non-working as that is my responsibility. But when you have somebody like the USPS screw you over, it's bad. Sorry for the rant but I thought I'd share my experience.
