So, I'm on my 1st cup of joe this morning when I replied to a post and got a time stamp of "12:25PM". It was 8:25AM here in Florida and I had to figure out "What the ____? Who is 4 hours ahead of me?" Googled for a minute or two and low, and behold, UTC time was the answer. So my question is "Why??" Time zones are times zones, right?

This community is global so I suspect using UTC is an effort to accommodate the rest of the word and make it less "Americentric"?
