I use unflavored 95/5 VG/H2O at 12mg nicotine. Glycerin USP (VG) has a slightly sweet taste, more so than PG. The taste of Glycerin USP should not vary by brand. I use CVS (produced by Humco) Glycerin USP sold in the 177ml drug store bottles because I like using fresh VG.

Humco Glycerin USP is sold in almost all of the major drug store chains in the USA. The stores put their own brand names on the labels.

VG is naturally very sweet.

This is from a user Plumes.91 at this thread

"Wings is correct, Vegetable Glycerine is considered to be sweeter than Propylene Glycol. Propylene Glycol is dry, and can develop mild, dank, mildew type flavor profiles and that can also bloom into a slight tartness. Vegetable Glycerine can have tones of corn syrup, &/or refined sugar. Neither of them are strong in flavor once flavors are mixed into them, but a refined palette may be able to pick this up.

VG is also much thicker, creates more thick a vapor than PG, mellows the throat hit, sometimes making the TH feel spongey & muted, and it can irritate the lungs causing wheezing & feelings of heavy chest in some vapers. PG is much thinner, can produce a bit of a throat hit, and can irritate the upper respiratory system, including the throat and esophagus & can produce sore throat and esophagus.
