So - is there any kind of definitive guide to tell which version of a Young June or L-Rider you have? I know the Young Junes don't have the red power buttons, they have one that matches the body. I just got a Vector Variable Volt from vaporbeast.com and am pretty sure it's the V2 Young June, due to it not having the zombie glitch (so far that I can tell), but is there anyone that would feel like making a guide? I found some information on what is different in the models, but what could we do to tell which version we have of a Young June or L-Rider tube?

With Young-June Vtubes, it's easy. Only three versions exist:

v1.5 looked like the original lavatube. That's the one that got recalled because of a meltdown. As far as I know, it's not made or sold anymore.

v1.5t comes in black or silver painted finish and has a smooth, flat top cap for the 510 connector. As I recall, it is sold in both standard size (18650) and mini (18350).

v2.0 comes in chrome and black chrome, in both standard size and mini, and has the ego-style top cap (with the drip well). The initial v2.0s had a quality control problem with a higher-than-acceptable failure rate in the top caps and 510 connectors. Young-June has now changed the connectors they use. The new ones have a smaller positive pin inside the connector. v2.0 Mini Vtubes have lousy battery life with the 18350.

That's it. Early production runs of the v1.5 and v1.5t had the zombie low-voltage shutoff glitch, but that was fixed for all subsequent production runs. All current production runs shut-off properly. The v1.5t units seem to be dependable, with a lower rate of problems/failures than the v2.0.

Young-June doesn't change version numbers every time they fix or improve something. They just do it without any announcement or fanfare. It's good that they listen to feedback and make corrections, although their lack of in-house testing and questionable quality control effectively turns their customers into paying beta testers.

So, the version numbers are simple. If your finish is black or silver paint with a flat top connector, it's a v1.5t. If your Vtube's finish is chrome or black chrome with an eGo-style drip well top cap, it's a v2.0.

You sir, are awesome - I have the 1.5t. That's was the purpose of this thread and it's been answered. Thank you!

One more new change to the YJ 2.0 that hasn't been announced...they added a spring loaded floating center pin. Which in theory is a good idea but in application restricts airflow in Vivi Nova, DCTs, etc. Ego style clearo's and atty's work fine. Other tanks need a shorty adapter. Which is theory could have an upside of protecting the threads on the tube as well as providing airflow, and if of a sealed nature keep juice off the connector. The downside is the overall unit gets a little longer and has a gap between the tube and tank now.
