I got kathnal wire thick wire. What should I use for this mod?
Some questions for you.
  1. Is your V3 a mechanical mod?
  2. Do you have an ohm reader?
  3. Are you familiar with ohm's law?
  4. What battery are you using (brand, mAh)?
  5. What is the gauge of your wire?
  6. Which RDA/RTA are you using?

Yes it's mechanical mod. I don't have any ohm ready, I'm using sony vtc 183650 I use 60size wire. My rda is baal v3
  • You must purchase an ohm reader. There is no way to know if you have a short or if you are exceeding the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of your battery without one.
Sony Batteries
  • Bench test results of the Sony cells.
Building
  • When considering how low you can build you need to give yourself some headroom. I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2v). So with a 20A battery (like the Sony VTC5), that would be 10A. This Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a 0.4Ω build is as low as I would want to use.
  • The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, a 20A battery may only be a 10A battery."
Wire

Size 60 wire is probably NiChrome 60 not A1 Kanthal. The only way to determine the gauge is to measure it and then test it using an ohm reader or DMM (digital multi-meter).
